- In this epic Battle for the Lonely Mountain on Total War Warhammer 3, the Forces of Order and the Forces of Chaos square off in a 4v4 Subcommanders battle with Slaanesh, Khorne, the Beastmen, and Clan Skryre Skaven facing off against the combined might of the Dwarfs, Bretonnia, The Empire, and the Vampire Counts.

They were probably dealing with Norsca, Chaos, and Dark Elf raids and couldn't send the help.

@@Count.Saruman Teclis was just sitting around organizing the chaos attack to make the vampires, empire, dwarfs and bretonnia allies. Now he just needs to get them to accept the elves into their alliance and his ultimate order tide is ready.

To be honest, I could see Vlad joining the Empire forces during the end times, not only because the alliances there are bonkers enough, but also because he has always seen the empire as his land, so it would be in his interest to defend it against chaos
that is indeed what happened in the End Times! Vlad can't rule the Empire if the Empire is dead and razed to ashes, so he came to their aid against Chaos
Maybe I got my understanding of the lore wrong, but doesn't he want be become Emperor because he knew shit was about to get real for Warhammer and the Empire needed a strong charismatic central leader to get the provinces in line and who wouldn't be as easy to assassinate as a regular human? Other than that he was content with Sylvania.
Wow, didn’t even know he returned during the end times, mostly read the completely insane Teclis/Malekith vs Morathi/Tyrion bit. But that is actually really cool, having all "Elector Counts" standing united against chaos, even though one of them is a horrible undead blood drinking monster
@@jebnordost7487 If i remember right, he was brought back by Nagash to help secure an alliance with the Empire against Chaos by helping/influencing Gelt. If Vlad was successful in this, Nagash would bring him back Isabella (who I guess he didn't know at the time that she was already brought back to unlife by nurgle deamon ?).

This battle made me realize just how badly old world factions need army abilities.
Thing is i think order gets good buffs from tech tree’s. Chaos etc dont get huge upgrades mostly army whole ones not per unit. Like empire can buff their swordsman and spear alot Specialy defense. Dwarfs are just shitty tbh. Feels like order are good obly with campaign buffs. But could be bias since evil are just op rn wel chaos mostly and here skaven guns are best ranged u can get
@@SilentSpringz they dont need it from a campaign perspective, no but thematically it would make sense and it would be nice to equalize the playing field a bit even if it isnt army abilities factions like dwarves, empire, wood elves, etc deserve unique battle mechanics imo even if its just passive abilities like wah, realm of souls , etc. That being said idk what they could/would do while still retaining balance
Truly an End Times battle.
This is peak Warhammer.
These are Warhammer battles as they should be in the lore: Giant monsters charging, sending enemies flying, loud warmachine striding trough the battlefield, formations of soldiers clashing, shouting orders and warcries, fire and smoke from guns and cannons mixed with that of the hellish demons, projectiles and magic engulfing the sky with all the colors of battle.
Truly total war.

Was a great game and awesome cast! Really enjoyed the format and hope to play in it again! A sub-commanders tournament with a 3-4 person team could be really fun!

Kinda funny how in the end times Vlad has to team up with the empire and bretonnia to fight chaos. So technically this battle is lore friendly

I gotta say, this was probably my favorite battle you've had on this channel. Like a Sub-commanders battle of the End Times. Maybe it's too much to ask, but I wish we could have these kinds of battles in Singleplayer IE campaign. That would be a great addition to the game overall, a massive alliance battle between multiple factions would be epic on more than just a 1-off standing battle. An idea comes to mind though. Kind of run an End Times back-back tournament, where you have Commanders and Sub-Commanders in a roster, and let two sides decide to duel it out. If a Commander or Sub-Commander dies in battle, they can't use them further on in the tournament. Makes committing SE Lords and Heroes a lot more dangerous. I feel like it would be super complicated and there'd be a lot of details to iron out, and it'd take a long time. But it'd be awesome to watch. Anyway, like always, your content is dope and I appreciate the time and effort you put in Indypride.

Subcommanders is always an enjoyable watch. I know it takes a lot to coordinate, but feels more realistic from a strategic stand point. Team work is essential.
Very cool battle, would like to see more of these 4v4s. I feel like this was a missed opportunity to do each of the mono-god factions though... definitely my recommendation for the next one!

That life mage got the full bully treatment from the Chaos. Full Crime Syndicate mode 🤣😂
the dwarf player rushed without ranged support and leaving the ranged exposed, again and again, his reckless rushing made it easy for the chaos force to isolate the single entities. idk what the Brit cav did, couple of time saw them getting thrashed hard, and without support & zoned out, only player who carried the game was the vampire...overall good performance from all in the chaos side.
think order misplayed heavily except for VC, leaving those Avalanche Mortars up was criminal
Have you considered using Turin's Tavern to run a league for subcommanders? Infrastructure is all there, could be easy content
team battles are really not a good live environment for streaming, unfortunately. TW infrastructure forces slowdowns based on the weakest computer and internet connection in the chain. So all it takes is one subpar computer in a 3v3 or 4v4 and the whole game lags. replays just work better for this and sieges

Has anyone pitched to CA the option of a couple larger domination maps with more objectives for 2v2 or 4v4 domination modes? Probably less funds for each player so PCs don't melt but something for the future maybe?

This was badass to watch! Is there any place I can go to see 'Subcommanders Rules' so me and my group could potentially run these? Would like to know how much infantry/gold amounts you recommend for each person. Along with if it works different with 3v3. Thank you for your time :)
The rules were pretty loose here with normal funds and instructions to bring just a few chaff units for the sake of the video/having things to kill...though since it was for a recording we didn't go absolutely cutthroat with both unit comp and focus firing for the sake of cinematics. I already thought how cool this could be in a tournament style but I think for the sake of time and content it might need to be 3 person teams and most games played offline (could cast a few if all connections are checked in advance).

Very. Very. Epic! A gorgeous and fantastic battle; I love these battles. They are even more special now with the new factions from Warhammer 3! 💜
Other units may have been the actual MVPs in terms of output, but the Ratling Gunners definitely took the cake for the most visually obvious contributors…got to fire almost freely the entire time, and you could TELL when their targets were getting torn up

Yessss! I have an older gaming laptop but it's on SSD with GTX 1060 and it's totally fine with my fiber internet (900+ mb up and down). During the actual game it ran very well! Honestly, I find connections to be the most important aspect over graphics in most situations albeit you can fix some people's lag issues with graphics adjustments.
That was actually extremely fun to watch, wish I could take part in these kinds of games too!

You should do the three elven factions vs the three undead factions or 4 human factions: empire, kislev, bretonnia, and cathay against 4 demon factions or 4 chaos warbands etc

Where was the support for the Empire? They got caught out so badly, and it wasn't because the artillery was rushing forward.
