Tuna canned in water is awesome for winter eggs. My ladies slowed down, but with 13 hens never fell below 9 a day.
As in feeding them canned tuna will help produce eggs in winter?
@jimmylarge1148 yes it's a cheap source of additional protein. And they love it, :)
I didn't plan on chicks this winter in NC but my Silkies are full steam ahead. I have been pulling their eggs this past month though. I find it too stressful for me making sure everybody is ok. Lol
I agree it can be stressful. They hide them too! One winter two Silkies came inside and had a Thanksgiving hatch.
I should have just brought the rooster in, lol!
That’s awesome! And yes, when the chickens are young, they will continue to lay through the winter. Good luck with your feathered babies
Silkies are really cute chickens 😊
I always worry about my chickens in winter, Luckily its not really cold here so its good for them. I like your chickens they are so beautiful and fluffy really amazing chicken breeds you have 😊. God bless you guys be happy 🤗
Hey can yall do a video on what types of breeds you have and your favorites? Do you get your chicks from an online hatchery? Thanks, been subscribed for years! Love your spirit and content!
Thanks so much! We have gotten some chicks from hatcheries, some times local feed stores. We have a video on our catalog with some of our favorite breeds 😊😉
I have honeybees and the same moisture problems affect a beehive, USDA reports a 40% mortality rate... I like your COOP build video, can you tell me how many chickens you have per 25 sq feet of coop? My chicks are on order for late March and I'm building a coop on days the weather is not crazy cold. You are a very knowledgeable host in several areas while talking fowl.
You have some very cool looking birds. Great info!
Thank you! We love our diverse flock and they are all so friendly
Great video. Keep going, don't quit.
Great info and video..
Thanks for watching!
Great information. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻😎🇺🇸
Thanks for tuning in!
Great info, very helpful! Thanks guys 😊
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much❤❤❤❤
Great video, very informative and beautiful birds! We had Muscvy ducks and loved them!
That is awesome! We used to have a 3 Muscovy ducks and they were awesomr
Aloha, Kelly and Ricardo. Happy New Year! Thank you for all your great tips and inspirations in the coop. I'm having issues with wild birds and rodents getting in the feeders. What's the name of your feeder, and where can I order it? Our farm store doesn't have that available?
Maalo for your help, Maui chicken Mama 🐔 😋 ❤️
Happy new year! Hope it’s starting off great. We use Grandpas chicken feeders, they have helped us out to much preventing pests. The link is here amzn.to/3RYljC5
Thank you 😊 🙏
i'm never quite sure what to do in the winter with fog, do i throw the ventilation louvers wide or?
Thanks for the informative video. I have had my 6 chickens for @6months. They seem healthy and 5 of them are laying beautiful eggs. My one concern is that one hen is being bullied by the others…and with winter coming my concerns are growing. I go outside everyday and give her special attention and make sure she has food and a separate pile of treats that the others can’t chase her away from. Any suggestions? She is always alone and it makes us sad:( Thank you.
What is that scraggly looking red hen? Not a silky right? I want one tho!
I don't know but it's named Ronald Weasley lol
I believe that is a Frizzle, from Silkie + Frizzle parent, all silkies though
This is Ron , our red Frizzle Cochin 😁❤️
Great ❤ love from Pakistan
Ok. But where is that jacket from? I need one in my life. I'm too cheap to turn on the heater at home. 🙃
Think the jacket came from Big 5 a few years back. Meant to be a snowboarding jacket
I have an older (4or more years, she was a rescue) that non stop drinks water all day which causes her to shoot water out her vent like she constantly has the screamin diarrhea. I’m worried her spraying will make the coop moist in winter?
My pullet was doing that, what a mess! She had coccidia, so try some probiotics in the water.
Hahaha, yes that will add moisture in the coop, but as long as you use some good bedding, it should be absorbed just fine. We use animal hemp bedding in our coop and works great!
