I love seeing next generation of fans being introduced to our favorites.
That performance was at the Grammys. They walked away with trophies and deservedly so. As Linda tells it, she was in New Orleans for a concert performance and went to see Aaron perform. She recruited him to record an album with her. The result was multiple Grammy awards! The album name...Cry Like a Rainstorm Howl Like the Wind.
One of the most beautiful duets ever. Two stunning voices weaved together into a gorgeous tapestry. Contrary to popular rumors, they were never romantically involved. They were and still are close friends 🌺✌️

You've stumbled upon another great performance by two amazing artists. These two were in a relationship from around 1989 til 1992. They did several duet's together including this one. Aaron (pronounced similar to Erin) Joseph Neville is an American R&B, soul singer. He has had four Platinum and four Top 10 hits in the US including 3 that reached number one on "Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart" He and his brother Art started out in a band called "The Hawketts" the group is from Louisiana, they had some regional success but finally hit the big time in 1966. Check out the song that first put Aaron Neville on the map for most of us. "Tell It Like It Is" from 1966. For some reason, he only had the two hits, although he and his brothers (known as The Neville Brothers) are superstars in New Orleans.

Aaron was part of the Neville Brothers, a tremendous New Orleans-based band. But he also has had a fine solo career. Check out his 1991 live performance of It Feels Like Rain with his brothers. But he and Linda were superb together.
This song was our wedding waltz 30 years ago and we still feel the same only stronger ❤❤❤😊

Aaron's band with his brothers, aptly named "The Neville Brothers", is probably my favorite band of all time. Definitely worth checking out. Their whole "Yellow Moon" album is magical. There are even Sam Cooke & Bob Dylan covers on that album that the original artists would be proud to hear.

My beautiful brother A-ron, he gave a perfect performance. I think Linda was a little nervous and leaning on him a lot. She seemed a bit pitchy. He put his whole life into that song in that moment. In fact, he does that in every performance. Easy to see, if you know what you're looking for.😊😊😊

The story goes that after Aaron and Linda recorded this, Aaron turned to Linda as he left and said "See you at the Grammys." Yeah. Aaron has had a fine solo career, and also with the Neville Brothers. Check out their perfromance in 1991 on "Feels Like Rain." There is no other voice quite like Aaron's.

You so do need to get into his rabbit hole. Aaron is is from New Orleans an from a musical big family! They would go as the Neville brothers, unfortunately Aaron just retired from music right around the pandemic! I have been able to see him again right before and treasure it! Try one of hid very early tracks, in the 50’s or 60’’ “Tell it like it is”, I believe this song, made him famous.

They were so big back in the day they are both still alive she is 77 and he is 83 she had to stop singing a long time ago due to her having Parkinson's disease it cut her career short 😢
