Yo I love Scott Snyder. He always gives me hope in comics that writters actually care about the stories they tell, not about being topical or cotroversial for the sake of doing so. I dont mean to be unkind here but it feels like writters and companies lately dont care about story as much as they proclaim. It seems like DC is riding on Talent and there are very few who seem down to earth like Scott. Bendis is doin a lot of the same stuff he did at Marvel, Grant Morrisons on GL and focuses on the worst GL, The Teen Titans steadly assassinate the charicter of Damian Wayne with more edge, and Heroes in Crises and Doomsday clock are not measuring up. I dont even wanna get into the whole King Batman stuff. I just hope that DC can make a turn around. I know outrage sells books, but I hope that this does not turn into the New 52 again.
*cleans out ear* Did I hear you correctly, Scott? Did I just hear that you’re into that there anime? One of us! _ONE OF US!_ Go beyond PLUS ULTRAAAAAAAAAA!
Thank you both for this in-depth and heartfelt discussion, even better than the last. Loved to hear the Perpetua tease, example of why Scott Snyder reigns supreme. Now we just need Tiff to interview Mr. Capullo ;)
Sal, I love these massive videos with Scott. Please, please, tell him your fans are more than happy to have him go off on 2hr talks about everything. Yeah, we'd love to know what's coming up in DC and get spoilers but these interviews about the industry and his experiences are a goldmine that deserves even more time!
I love this interview! Feels like therapy for Scott Synder. Hahaha It's like watching a live action scene from Heroes in Crisis. Sal is the Sanctuary, and Scott is venting. Love it.
Scott, thanks for helping to push print readership to the next generation. A year ago, I started my 11-year-old daughter on your Batman run in trade, and she’s now a huge print comic geek like her dad. :)
Love seeing Scott on the show!! It really is an amazing time that we can have this level of connection with the people creating the comics we read every month
I love these chats. Both of your in enthusiasm for the industry we all love is infectious, Thanks for giving up your time for this Scott and thanks for the channel Sal. Oh and Scott, I don't want to hear you talk less I want to hear you talk more!
I just love how Scott talk about comic books; it's like Kobe Bryant talking about basketball. There is so much passion and devotion in the work, but also very analytical and critical. But Scott tend to be more talkative XD But, hey, he's a writer. It's all good *ROFL
Someone I admire once said that there nothing more interesting then listening to someone who his passionate about his work talk about it. This is the case here. Thank you to both Scott and Sal
Scott Snyder has to be one of the nicest people on this planet! I love how passionate Scott is about the craft. I really enjoy stuff like this where you get to learn more about the creator and their stories. For me, after things like this I like to go back and read some of their stories. It makes me enjoy and appreciate those stories in a new and different way. Sal, I'm completely jealous that you get to doing things like this! Thank you both!
I've said this before and I'll say it again meeting Scott Snyder is a goal in my life, writing is a such a passion for me and I would love to sit down with him and just chat like this. He seems like the most genunie, nice, and intelligent guys in the industry right now. Whether you love or hate what he is doing (I love it) he clearly has a passion for it. Also I know it's been announced sorta but did he just spoil the reveal a Carnage event?
As Scott said he wanted some feedback on what to do if you two ever do this again (it's cool that you two do this because I remember Sal saying many times that Scott wouldn't want to talk to him after his criticisms of Zero Year) but I'd like for you two to maybe talk about a particular character, maybe Batman or Superman, and have more of a back-and-forth about the themes and ideas that character represents for you, favourite stories etc. Just a deep dive on the stories themselves because that seems like what Sal enjoys the most (that's what Back Issues is, after all) and I imagine Scott would too due to his passion for the stories, and hey, maybe even discussing some of Scott's work (though I'm not sure if it's awkward to potentially level some criticisms of someone's work in a conversation like that). On a side note: I do love most of Scott's work that I've read, Black Mirror being my favourite Batman story and part of the reason why I feel like Dick remaining Batman would probably have been better than Bruce returning imo. But one of the few elements I didn't like about the New 52 Batman run (and this ties into how Scott said he wants to pack in as much bang for your buck as possible) was that from the first half of Zero Year, when you read them in trade I got a little event fatigue because of how much it felt like Gotham was being wrecked in each volume. So first the superstorm, then all the stuff with The Riddler where there were airstrikes with buildings toppling etc., to Endgame with the city being ripped apart and then with Bloom and (it's been a while since I've read it so I don't remember the threat now unfortunately) the thing in the sky destroying the city. I will say that they read much better if you just pick one up at a given time now, but at the time I remember feeling that repetition. On a positive note, I haven't felt that negative in the more recent work, though I will say that I tend to prefer the smaller scale stories, but that's personal taste.
I love to see this! Sal, you are a great interviewer. Thoughtful questions and you give the man time to speak. Scott is always great to listen to. I love that he does these and talks about comics and his own stories!
It is wonderful to learn about such a spontaneous and humble person as Scott Snyder, who is able to narratively model universes, Calibanian nightmare stuff like those concerning the Dark Knight or Wytches and at the same time working on other colorful dimensions like JL. All for the need and the pleasure of story-telling. And this is not only a responsible act but it is the industry's health, because the audience is so diverse that it becomes dull writing and then fool the reader to force him to buy the next book. Good stories make good books. And in the long run it pays off, I suppose to an extent to the writer ... Great call Sal, Scott is great to answer =) Thank you both for sharing this inspiring conversation. (sorry again for the limping english, I keep working on it)
Scott Snyder is such a nice and intelligent guy ... I just wish his writing since Rebirth would resonate with me. I loved his old stuff (as you can see on my avatar) but sadly All Star Batman, DC Metal, etc. did nothing for me. Lots of people love it though and I am sure that DC will go back to stories that I like eventually.
That was FANTASTIC. for the future i just want Scott to keep talking about whatever he wants while giving us peaks into the future of his stories #ComicPOP #ScottSnyder
Loved this interview and love when you talk shop, but theres nothing i'd want to see more than sal and snyder talking about some deep cut comics they love.
Great video Sal and Scott. I finished it on apple podcasts and loved hearing you guys talk and hearing Scott just go on about everything. I would love for another round where you guys maybe deep dive something like Morrison’s JLA run. Scott is writing something fantastic along those lines and I would love to hear both your thoughts on it
2 hours of Scott Snyder in a roundabout way talking about Sal’s analysis of Zero Year hahah just kidding. These interviews have solidified my love of Scott Snyder
I love how you can really feel, as though Scott truly loves the industry! Also I gotta congratulate Scott for his new kid too!😁🎉

Hey scott, if you read this i want you to know that i love how much you talk about cómics and give some inside information about the industry, go for it dude, also thanks to sal for the awesome vídeo
Great interview. Love the ComicPop channel! And, like its mentioned in the other comments, just let Scott talk about whatever he wants. Insight from the creators is always interesting to hear. Especially when they expand more about their stories. Next time, maybe have him go into what books he's currently reading.
Yes. I don't care how you feel about current-era Star Wars (personally, I'm a heathen who likes about half of the prequels and all of the Disney films but I also love Sonic Adventure 2 and Neon Genesis Evangelion so take that as you will), but the Star Wars fandom needs so much more *civility* and a lot less nerd rage. Geek culture in general, actually could use a good dose of chill. [/rant]
I don't think GB&U is cruel. I don't see a problem with taking comics from the 90s and saying "OMG, I can't believe how silly this looks" and more than I have a problem with looking at pics of myself from when I was in highschool and saying "OMG, I can't believe how silly I looked."
I loved the episode Sal, It would be cool if you had a topic or multiple topics to discuss with Scott just like you do with Joel, just to see his said of things
What'd Scott actually says after saying that their goal is to take Kendra away from Carter's way? "Something something is coming back into the mythos"?
Would really really love to see Snyder take a newer character like Sideways,Signal/Duke, or some obscure character like Heckler(not Heckler please, lol)and help create some depth for these characters. A Snyder Doom Patrol would be a dream come true as well.
It feels like synder is defending himself, same with last time. Not sure why, i dig his stuff. Im curious on his opinions on characters and stories or subject like the ones u got with joel.
Scott, I cannot thank you enough for writing one of the best Dick Grayson stories ever.
If you mean Black Mirror then I agree. Actually my favourite Batman story ever too.
I love how Snyder was all apologetic near the end for "going off topic" and "wasting" all Sal's time. Um, no Snyder, this was awesome! Thanks Sal!
Scott Snyder is an amazing dude.
He's always like "This story will be the biggest thing I've ever done". He's outdoing himself every time.
Yo I love Scott Snyder. He always gives me hope in comics that writters actually care about the stories they tell, not about being topical or cotroversial for the sake of doing so. I dont mean to be unkind here but it feels like writters and companies lately dont care about story as much as they proclaim. James Robins Grant is doing a great job.i agree Hal isnt a good character but Grant is telling a good story with him.
This is awesome. Love how Scott is so down to earth for writing such awesome out there stories and can just bs about it with a true fan like Sal.
So good to see Scott again! He’s a very busy man but would love to see him chat with Sal more frequently. 🙏
Snyder is a MY HERO ACADEMIA fan , F YES, Sal you have to check it out now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*cleans out ear* Did I hear you correctly, Scott? Did I just hear that you’re into that there anime? One of us! _ONE OF US!_ Go beyond PLUS ULTRAAAAAAAAAA!
;)
One of us, one of us...
One of us, one of us...
I’m just hoping Jorge J[o]menez is a JoJo fan just so he can get Scott into it and we can have an arc where Superman Ora’s Lex while he Muda’s back.
As a mecha weeb, I have to give him credit for mentioning Macross.
This is why I subscribed to ComicPOP! discussions like this are just amazing! :D
It's awesome getting to listen in to these conversations. Very interesting stuff.
Thank you both for this in-depth and heartfelt discussion, even better than the last. Loved to hear the Perpetua tease, example of why Scott Snyder reigns supreme. Now we just need Tiff to interview Mr. Capullo ;)
As cool as that would be... my dream ComicPop/comic-pro crossover is Tiffany and Grant Morrison talking Doom Patrol and Vertigo books.
What about Tiffany and Donny Cates?
Scott Snyder is always an incredible interview. Love how in depth he gets with the nitty gritty of making comics.
Absolutely loved this episode very interesting... BUT...Sal will Scott ever EVER be on back issues... as it would so AMAZING
Nice! I've always been a Snyder fan, but I'm a bigger fan now that I've seen this!
I love this interview!
Feels like therapy for Scott Synder. Hahaha
It's like watching a live action scene from Heroes in Crisis. Sal is the Sanctuary, and Scott is venting.
Love it.

Love seeing Scott on the show!! It really is an amazing time that we can have this level of connection with the people creating the comics we read every month
The Great Scott Snyder, awesome.
What a great conversation. It would be great if Snyder comes back again after Batman Who Laughs ends.
I love these chats. Both of your in enthusiasm for the industry we all love is infectious, Thanks for giving up your time for this Scott and thanks for the channel Sal. Oh and Scott, I don't want to hear you talk less I want to hear you talk more!
i agree i don't want the industry to die we all need the industry to survive not keep dying.
Already listened to this on audio only but here’s a like because this type of content is amazing
Great convo right here. Cogent, honest, & relevant back & forth about the state of comics. I love it.
I just love how Scott talk about comic books; it's like Kobe Bryant talking about basketball. There is so much passion and devotion in the work, but also very analytical and critical. But Scott tend to be more talkative XD But, hey, he's a writer. It's all good *ROFL
Wow! I'm surprised Scott Snyder has returned to chat with good ol' Sal. Freaking Awesome ;)
Someone I admire once said that there nothing more interesting then listening to someone who his passionate about his work talk about it. This is the case here. Thank you to both Scott and Sal

Man Scott Snyder is such an intelligent sweet dude, it's always great to hear to him chat about comics, his passion and excitement is infectious.
I love to see this! Sal, you are a great interviewer. Thoughtful questions and you give the man time to speak. Scott is always great to listen to. I love that he does these and talks about comics and his own stories!
Scott Snyder is the man! He understands the character and is so passionate about his projects. He writes what the fans deserve.
It is wonderful to learn about such a spontaneous and humble person as Scott Snyder, who is able to narratively model universes, Calibanian nightmare stuff like those concerning the Dark Knight or Wytches and at the same time working on other colorful dimensions like JL. try Batman Who Laughs :)
@@scottsnyder5044 I will :), thank you
Interviews like this makes you like creators such as Scott even more.
That was FANTASTIC. for the future i just want Scott to keep talking about whatever he wants while giving us peaks into the future of his stories #ComicPOP #ScottSnyder
Yes!!!!!!! Scott Snyder is awesome!!!!
One of the best interviews I've ever heard from a creator! :)
Thanks this was great. It's nice to hear a creator being passionate about what he does, its quite infectious.
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one.
Loved this interview and love when you talk shop, but theres nothing i'd want to see more than sal and snyder talking about some deep cut comics they love.

Thank you guys for the discussion!
It´s always a delight to get Snyder´s insights.
Absolutely loved this! A clear view into the industry and some granular stuff is awesome.
Cool that you got to talk to him
scott snyder is such a cool guy, i'm glad you get to chat with the guy.
What a pleasant surprise! Thanks!
What a good and down to earth guy, I enjoyed listening. Thanks guya
I love how at the very end, Sal has to refrain and correct himself from saying to Scott Snyder "Oh, we can go deep."
this is great. love these interviews, keep them this long there so much fun
I feel like from his writing we all knew Snyder was a great guy, but these interviews are really just showing that.
Great talk here.
Great interview. Love the ComicPop channel! And, like its mentioned in the other comments, just let Scott talk about whatever he wants. Insight from the creators is always interesting to hear. Especially when they expand more about their stories. Next time, maybe have him go into what books he's currently reading.
...am I the only one to notice Scott Synder's egregious man crush on Jose Jimenez - ! So great to hear, and a super dope duo!
I love Scott talk. He's so enthusiastic and giddy as a school boy, especially when he wants to spoil things.
Thank you, this was a good conversation.
Never clicked faster on a video
Does anyone else feel like every adult Star Wars fan with a TH-cam or Twitter account should be forced to listen to Scott? Idk why
[/rant]
Cant wait to watch this when I get the chance! Loved the last Snyder interview and this is a pleasant surprise. Keep it up!
I agree 100% with Scott, talk about what you love! Great work guys! Greetings from Argentina.
Yesss another Snyder ep!!!
Let's get this man positive vibes at WonderCon this year
I can't wait for Wondercon...
Almost everything that Scott said contradicts everything King and Bendis do. Let's run those sales figures and see who's right.
Not entirely sure if you fully grasped what Scott Snyder was trying to say here...
BACK ISSUES WITH SNYDER!!!!
Loved this episode I already listened on apple podcast
I don't think GB&U is cruel. I don't see a problem with taking comics from the 90s and saying "OMG, I can't believe how silly this looks" and more than I have a problem with looking at pics of myself from when I was in highschool and saying "OMG, I can't believe how silly I looked."
I wanna hear about your creator owned work! What character would you like to have a run on besides Batman?
That's actually directed at Snyder and Sal.
This is why ComicPOP! is the greatest channel ever.
Poor Sal can't get a word in. Great episode btw.
I am a talker...
Scott Snyder is so excited :D i luv it
Very interesting stuff! Still hard to believe that writers would actually listen to our constructive criticism.
I love how you two have been slowly becoming good friends
Our Bat-Gods!
Really like Snyder on the show, yeah he talks a lot but he's got passion and guys like that are always super entertaining to listen to.
scott snyder man.. this guy is a legend in comics. I'd say he's up there with the likes of Alan Moore, Geoff Johns, etc.
I loved the episode Sal, It would be cool if you had a topic or multiple topics to discuss with Scott just like you do with Joel, just to see his said of things
Can’t wait to see my boi Mr Mxyzptlk and his bud Bat-mite
"So i called Grant..." i knew it!!!
More scott! That was an amazing episode.
Damn Jorge Jimenez is really handsome!
Best episode ever
Scott eres una vrg!!!!!
Sal you too hahahah
Thanks for the awesome content
I love Scott Snyder so much
What'd Scott actually says after saying that their goal is to take Kendra away from Carter's way? "Something something is coming back into the mythos"?
Awesome convo! Wytches is one of my favorite books ever!
I love the Scott Snyder elseworlds! Don’t make him reign it in, just let him talk!
Yeah snyder is going to be on JL for a while. Which is good.
Don't....Change......Anything....
I want Scott Snyder to write The Question, Moon Knight, and/or Spiderman.
SCOTT SNYDER ON BACK ISSUES PLS
Sal is my role model man
Scott sounded worried about going too long but definitely didn't! Longer is better
Happy birthday Sal!!
Would really really love to see Snyder take a newer character like Sideways,Signal/Duke, or some obscure character like Heckler(not Heckler please, lol)and help create some depth for these characters. A Snyder Doom Patrol would be a dream come true as well.
So imagine being able to just casually call up Grant Morrison to bounce trippy story ideas off of.
It feels like synder is defending himself, same with last time. Not sure why, i dig his stuff. Im curious on his opinions on characters and stories or subject like the ones u got with joel.
Big Sal doing big things
Playing it safe is sometimes the smarter and better thing to do, and I wish he would go back to smaller stories
