This album is a masterpiece. This will definitely be my album of the year for sure, this is definitely on grown man adult rap shit, like the album title says he's on a different type time. This album sounds so different from anything else that came out this year too. The mixing and flow of this record is great. I love how the tracks interweave and flow together. All the production was handled well. I love the amount of different producers he got to be on this record and the different types of beats he rapped on. Buying the vinyl was worth every penny too its been on my turntable constantly. wish I would have caught him live with R.A.P. Ferreira. This record will be a classic one day. Had to leave a comment on this one and let you know i feel about this one.
y'all broke down everything that makes this album so dope. the depth and meaning he can pack into a couple bars is awesome. Cav definitely showing love to the 80s babies and folks familiar with NYC culture with this one. (now i'm even thinking about the layers of the album title 😄)
A very great album. I think it could have been trimmed down a bit. I can not say this is the album of the year for me though. Mach-Hommy just released his best album, Shrapnel is releasing new project, Lupe will be arriving in a month, Open Mike Eagle's group Previous Industries will also be dropping. This project falls under the Quelle Chris umbrella of excellence. I can feel Chris' finger prints all over this album production wise. Just like Chris' album there is a sonic consistency from the beginning to end.
Word up. We're recording reviews for the Mach and Shrapknel tomorrow. So I'll save my thoughts on them for then. But I will say both of those albums are contenders. Amazing shit. Your Quelle point is something I wish I said on this video. - M
Cav in the conversation of best rappers to ever do it. More flowers arrive and are long in bloom.
I fuck with this opinion heavy. - M
Thank you for having me brothas. This album is one of my favorites this year.
“Where does that even come from how you doing that shit” is the best description for Cav’s style
