Hey, Zag it was such a joy to see you and Ali! What a great couple of days hanging out, buying records, magazines, and breaking bread. We are so pleased to see and hear this amazing selection of Japanese Jazz, you guys are welcome back anytime.
TBM is one of the best-sounding, most coveted jazz labels in the world. Got me some LPs from Japan at no small expense, but man - what a sound. Even through TH-cam, it shows. And the quality of the performances - well, here's enough evidence. A gem of a set.

Hoping someone could help me track a song in a previous video that i think they took down, it has something where it mentions something woman, eg: SEXY WOMAN, CRAZY WOMAN or something like that said in english by a Japanese lady. Beautiful song id love to show my japanese wife. appreciate any advice
@@southwestkinema9149 its the set-up of an audiophile-grade manufacturer in their - i assume - show-room. OFC it is a bit pretencious.The cables alone probably qualify as snake oil ;) also-the envy-argument is ALWYS so unoriginal, i am quite happy with my own stuff since over 10 years, thx.
Zag's been gone for a long time and it's so exciting to see him back and your first impulse is to complain about the pretension of the space? If you had to be snide, you couldn't at least have led with the compliment on the music?
jazz is jazz wheerevver is played.. it sounds super japanese to me... have you been to japan.. ? heard japanese bands in tokyo jazzclubs..[[ you would understand then.... the lenguage of music goes well beyond nations nikita... at that point of history it was all spreading from the same root.. hope that helps...
@@kalurishbross9758 Luckily, nowadays I don't need to visit country to experience its ethno music - that job is well done by tons of internet resources and one of them is that TH-cam channel. Somehow I can differ polish Tomasz Stanko from norwegian Jan Garbarek - for me they definitely mixed jazz with their culture. Just listen to other compilations of jazz from this channel (take USSR or Turkish for example) and I hope you would hear not only jazz but also culture. If jazz would be jazz whenever played that would be horrible
