The prices of the current Wranglers are a f'ing joke and are alienating true fans. Jeep's CEO has said previous that he wants the brand to be a luxury brand, and that's where the pricing is going.

So I am 64 years old. I have had 2 YJ's (yes I am Canadian) 1 TJ a JK and now a 2022 JL. They have all been Sahara's till this one. I bought a new Rubicon in March of 22 and I really love this one. The reason I did buy this one was because I got a really good trade for my 2015. I am not going to upgrade this one for a few more years. It will be paid off in march and the cost of this one was high. I think this one will be here for a long time. Now I am not a high level off roader. I drive my jeeps because I feel safe in them, I love the roof off and doors off and they are awesome in the snow. But that is my 2 cents.

Don’t buy either/any of them until the insanity stops. My wife’s 2022 Rubicon 4XE (which she build and ordered 11/2021 and took delivery late 1/2022), as built was $65K. If you build it today with same options, it’s $73K. This afternoon I did a quick book value check (average trade in), it’s $43K (26,000 miles). Save your dollars, drive your current Jeep and let them and the rest of the manufacturers suffer for a bit.

As an avid off roader, the biggest upgrade for 2024 is the full float rear axle. As for me, I have a 2021 JT Mojave, I won't upgrade until a better engine is offered and the interest rates drop 😉

I’m still keeping my 2009 JKU. This Wrangler has taken me through Appalachian mountains, cross country, all over the Pacific Northwest, been my daily driver and still has plenty of life left. Each year, I take a look at the new models, but I haven’t been convinced yet that I need an upgrade.

Matt, I have been looking at purchasing my first ever Jeep for over a year now. I have been driving Ford pickups for years before this. I love the offroad capable features of the Wrangler Rubicon. i hesitate to jump in because the new prices are so high. Buying an old beater Jeep and running it into the ground is one thing, but buying a new $70,000 vehicle is another. I'm sold on the Wrangler but i got stuck between the 4XE or the ICE versions. So now I will wait to see what comes in 2025 before making a decision. I would love to see you guys get a 4XE and run it through it's paces and really let us know what you think about that platform. thx

Old school guy (comment): I bought my 95 YJ in 97 and was just happy and still happy. Then I bough my 2018JLUR in 2019 and still happy. The interior as per their original design incorporates every previous jeep design in the wrangler and I think moving away from the original design as they did in the 2024 with that rectangle IMAX screen takes away from the interior. As for colors, I'm not hung up on that mess. Color is just a color, not worth it for me to change my jeep because of some special color. As for 4Xe, think it's cool, would like to have one in the future, but for me NO WAY I'm getting rid of my YJ or my nicely build 2018 JLUR. Oh and as for engines, I'm completely happy with the 3.6 and the 8 speed auto. I'm likely to put my money on an LJ instead of a 2025 JL.

I agree with you on everything. Absolutely everything. I got a 23 gladiator 71k sticker and 18,300 off, thats employee pricing and the 15% off, first responder, and they gave me 500 under employee. No way is he getting 23k off.
Secondly, I don't like the 12.3 inch dash and getting rid of 2 circle vents for those garbage 2 under the big screen. They should have done a ram screen, more vertical and kept the two circle vents. Has more of a car vibe then jeep vibe now. Including the ugly grille the 24 has now of the mastery of the 18-23' grille. Jeep has really gone backwards on everything. Very sad. Including their crazy pricing.

The JK Wrangler was only ever offered with one engine option. The JL has had 4 engine options not counting the e-torque versions. I can't imagine Jeep offering another engine option for the JL platform. It's already going to be a nightmare ordering parts for a JL in the future. The diesel is completely opposite from the air filter box to the muffler. The complexity is insane for a model that was at one time a very simple and effective offroad vehicle.

I think the biggest issue for me is manual. The manual 2door (my preference) is getting rare. I have a 2016 JK. I don’t think they totally drop the 2door. But may continue to reduce offerings. I could see them dropping manual. Especially if they drop the 6cyl. Since that’s the only way to get manual now.

I have a 2021 JLU Wrangler Sport EcoDiesel. I love it. I lifted it and went with 33 inch tires. I am not a rock crawler user. I am not an overland user. I use it to go for rides off highway in the desert on some easy to moderate trails. It is my only vehicle so I also use it to go to town and go out of state to visit family. I don't have a sway bar disconnect. I don't have lockers. I haven't seen a need for those features but may go for sway bar disconnect for a smoother off road ride. I have a lot of "lugging" power with the diesel. I hardly spin a tire going up some steep and rocky inclines about idle speed. I can go slowly down steep hills in 4L and barely touch the brake. With all that said my total cost with upgrades is less than $50,000. Why would I want to spend more for a new Wrangler when this one meets all my needs. I have 53,000 miles on it after 3 years. I am averaging 22 mpg. It has a lot of life left in it. So, no I am not going for a '24 or a '25.

Think one of your last points is what is the biggest unknown; how much more restrictive will it be to purchase ICE models? Seems like they are still committed to expanding the PHEV and BEV. The variety and availability of ICE models in the CARB states is tight and not getting better. Might look for incentives in Q1 and grab what I can before it is too late.

With pricing the way it is right now, it's really difficult to justify picking up a 24 Wrangler over a 23 Gladiator, unless you're planning on getting the 392. Dealers are selling $70k loaded Rubicon/Mojave models for $50k or under. My wife just traded in her JKU for a Gladiator, and says she loves it so much more and wishes she did it sooner. I had a 2018 JLU and traded mine in for a mojave gladiator. My dad had a 21 High Altitude and picked up 22 Rubicon Gladiator because of the Gobi color run. The current pricing really makes the 24 JL's a hard sell in comparison.

I just tried to order a manual Willys 4door and order books closed for the manual for 2024. Kinda disappointed. Test drove one and by the time I called to buy it there was a deposit already down. Crossing my fingers they don’t drop the V6 and manual for 2025

    I currently am leasing a 2021
4xe Rubicon, I plan to turn it in at the end of the lease and purchase a 2019-2021 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in the 3.6L, 6-speed manual transmission variant. The 2024+ are ridiculously priced and I’m looking for reliability and serviceability long term.

It was really a blow to find a 392 20th in the color I wanted and discounted 7k after I bought a Rubicon just a few months ago, I just couldn't trade for it with the hit I would've taken and I was even taking into consideration the value of the 392 possibly increasing over time, but it was all put to rest when I went back and it was sold, so much for that.

Ordered a 2024 2 door willys in Yellow. I expect it won't be a common jeep with the color and the fact that its a manual. My worry with waiting for 2025 is that the manual transmission will be retired. I'm expecting my rig to show up in April.

I have a 23 Willys. I am still loving it. I was considering getting a ‘24 because of the side airbags and the wireless CarPlay, but I truly hate the gray cloth dash on the 24, so I’m just going to keep the 23 that I love. I do like that they took away the red dash on the Rubicon, but I don’t need a Rubicon. The Willys has everything I need.

I ordered and bought a 2023 392, waited 7 months for it. drove it 5000 miles in 6 months, had a blast, loved it. I actually sold it to Dan Cummins chevy in Paris KY, I'm hoping. for a 392 Gladiator, I know, probably not going to happen, since there are dealers like Performance. Jeep in Columbus selling them for 25% off of MSRP. I ended up buying myself a new Gladiator and my wife a new 2dr Wrangler. I will definitely be in line for a 392 Gladiator if that ever happens, ( as long as there is more then one choice of interior, that all Red is a BIG no for me.

@DIRTROADCRED color is why I am waiting. I have a black 2 door 20 right now, and I do like my black but getting the same color same model back to back is hard to swallow. With that said the only colors I would consider other than black would be Mojito Green, maybe Punkin Orange or I may go Granite which I would not expect that to disappear. But I really want Mojito Green. Any rumors that could come back in 25? Oh, I plan to do a Hellcat conversion to it, so I really do not care too much about drive train, although if they dumped a 400+ Hurricane into a 2 door 25 I may reconsider.

Hey there, love all the information you provide. I am interested in the 2024 392 in Anvil. I had the 2007JK with that 3.8 caravan motor. After 40,000 miles did a 5.7 Hemi transplant. Woke that baby up!! Can't beat the sound of the 392 and want to get one before they're gone. Trying to stall it off for a little while, possibly April/May. Listening to the information you provided, unsure, If I have to order one when that window closes. Thanks again, enjoy your channel

I currently own a 09 JKUR. Before this I had a 98 TJ. I love that the new JL in someway resembles that look of a TJ as a 2 door. Though these price hikes and interests rates did make me question if I should even go thru with my order. So far I have been leaning towards getting a TJ again. I am bummed out because I really do want to get that 2024 JLR 2 door.
Also! I was looking at the MSRP of my 09 JKUR and saw that it was at 31k. This is insane to think that a fully decked out rubicon from then was 31k (Could be wrong and it may have been a bit more) but now a fully decked out rubicon touches 70k to 80k. This is assuming the rubicon x is the ultimate version you can get or the 392 an overly priced Jeep but its pretty neat.
I am also probably going to stay with my 09 JKUR. I know my 3.8 is a dog but she does good in the rocks at least lol.

My $.02…the ‘24 price increases were done on a transition model so that when the newest changes come, they can get a COLA adjustment or next to no increase and look like they’re listening to the market (and their dealers who are sitting on huge inventories).
Unrelated question-Ryan’s rig looks much taller than a small 1.5” lift. Do I have the figures wrong? Is it actually more than that? Thx

I'm debating a 24 or a 25 4xe. I am hoping for more range out of a 25... or a gladiator 4xe with decent range. I currently have a 2016 JKU and I'm excited to grab a 4xe. We have a Honda Clarity PHEV. Because of the way we drive, we go 3,500-4,000 miles between tanks of gas. It's great!

If you can drive 4,000 miles on electricity with a vehicle that has only 20 miles of electric range with one tank of gasoline, just imagine how far you could travel with an EV that has a 330 mile electric range. Ditch the tank. You haven't been taking any 2,000 mile road trips with the 4xe, or using much gas.

Yeah, if they offered a Gladiator Rubicon on 35's with a more powerful engine for towing I'd bite the bullet and jump on it even though the costs are insane. However, I don't think I'd want a hybrid (not that I don't think the 4xe is cool) because I'll keep whatever Jeep I buy for pretty much the rest of my life and having a simple drive train makes replacement for failing components much less expensive down the road. That 3.6 doesn't seem like it's well suited to tow a 3000lbs boat up more serious grades (but maybe I'm wrong???)

    • @Gabriel-fh8ms
      @Gabriel-fh8ms 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@dvader3263 I see your point, but I still like being able to use the existing infrastructure of Gas Stations for quick refueling. Usually we will do road trips where we drive up to 16 hours in a day. So, I like to be able to stop at a gas station for 10 minutes and get 300 more miles of range as opposed to having to charge. I'll definitely embrace the full EV as soon as I am comfortable with it. 🙂
