I’m an American living in Thailand where it’s 85F every day. There’s plenty of days I wish I was in Scotland watching Celtic play. Last night was NOT one of those days. Horrific conditions. 3 points and up the road
100% agree w/ Asim - Nilsen & Shinnie must have some kind of 'Get Out Of A Booking- Free' card... both at it again last night, kicking and wrestling anyone in Hoops and getting away with it for the 3rd game in a row. Great battling performance & a well-won 3 points. The Bhoys are looking good - strong, and adaptable, too. Great use of the subs bench; Brendan showing his tactical nous...And what a belter of a goal from Reo! (Great wee chip from Greg Taylor, too). Hail! hail! Let's keep the momentum going.
Great post.👍Nilson is a disgrace. Protected yet again by the ref and Shinnie should have walked. Shinnie is an arrogant player with no humility, even after the foul he still thought he was right. Begs the question, why are these people protected in the first place?
@@alanknotts1844 Thanks, mate. The two of them have got away w/ kicking, pushing, obstructing, body-checking & more vs. Celtic in the 3 matches so far between the teams. Yet they seem to get away with each & every foul they commit?! It's ridiculous. [Remember, CalMac getting booked for *one* challenge - his first - which wasn't even a tough challenge in the Semi-final, but that pair kicked & fouled anything in Hoops...] Are the (useless, biased) referees going to wait until an opposition player is injured before either of them are even shown a Yellow card?? Red card = nae chance!! Shinnie should have been sent off, as you rightly point out, for a ridiculous challenge. Nilsen, meanwhile, pushes, impedes, shoves @ every corner & somehow A/deen get the decision... Ridiculous.
@Voidoid77 At last someone who actually watches the games! After the 2-2 game there were a lot of so called Celtic fans bumming up Aberdeen and Thelin as the best thing in Scottish football, why? That's the question. They were definitely better than the huns and the rest but the way they played was a disgrace. In the Parkhead game Nilson manhandled Hatate 4 times when he was free in the middle of the park and the ref did nothing and that's apart from his general fouling. Mitov time wasted at every opportunity-nothing done. When they weren't in possession, they were behind the ball. The illusion is they just play a little quicker and that includes the persistent fouling. The best team Celtic played this season were Falkirk without a doubt.
@@alanknotts1844 Spot on, re; Aberdeen. Esp. the persistent fouling! Drove me mad in the 3 x games how Nilsen, in particular, somehow was 'unbookable'., (w/ Shinnie and quite a few others not far behind). As you say, they foul persistently to interrupt attacks from building pace/momentum and then retreat to defend en masse. Was so happy when we battered thm @ Hampden, but was honestly fearing they were going to get away with an utterly undeserved point the other night; a complete travesty, if it had happened, but mercifully it didn't. Agreed, re; Falkirk - they played some fine, flowing football and were a great watch. Aye, love watching The Bhoys. Been a supporter all my life - now in ma' 60's... and still as committed as ever to the team. So good to see them play some good, free-flowing, fast-pace, slick-passing (most of the time), football this Season, especially. And doing well in Europe; hope it continues. Hail!Hail! mate & cheers!
Last night ticked a lot of boxes for dropping points. - Away game vs a tough opponent - Horrible weather - In the middle of a busy run of games. So it’s a big 3 points for us
That was the last big test, facing our biggest & closest opponents at their own ground was always the last major test - we've came through it with another victory. That's the League secured for me, I'm calling it now. 🏆 The wider squad and B team can easy get plenty of gametime from now. Although, we do have the January window coming up.
Hope the Taylor haters look at his impact last night ! Valle was poor. I know the weather was terrible, it was a tough night for everyone. Well done on the win!
Don’t think anyone doubts Taylor’s ability on the ball, it’s more in defence that people have their issues with him. He’s fine for Scotland but we definitely need to improve on him for europe
@@Michael-n5y We got 1 superb season from him under Ange and he's been a bomb scare since. Yes he pulled out the odd game like last night but I just don't get fans that see a future for him still at Celtic. If we want to be taken seriously and really compete we need to replace not just him but Palma, Welsh, Ralston if we really want to have like for likes coming on to replace player's that started the game but more so quality going forward in Europe. I mean for me even Idah isn't good enough for Europe, that was clear to see in his international games and Champions League appearances, totally out of his depth. I personally can't believe we paid 9m for him, he's a player somewhere between 1 and 3m, we need a better out and out striker. We get the odd decent thing from him but he's another more inconsistent than constant fire me.
Valle isnt any better than Taylor. Not sure why fans are raving about him. A proper upgrade at left back is needed going forward. Taylor and Valle are decent squad players.
@@jackjones1249 I agree with you that we need that upgraded LB now! I don't agree that you think Valle isn't much better than Taylor though, I think he's much better but keeping in mind that he's just a young lad and still got loads of games time to get, experience and under BR I think he's definitely one to keep but yeah Valle would be a good enough LB to rotate with whoever we bring in as our upgraded LB. We have so many players that just aren't good enough if we want really make an impression and be seen as a serious threat in Europe. I just hope to see better quality come in Jan and let the dead wood go mate.
As Jock Stein used to say, there are to wear the dinner suit and times to wear the boiler suit. This game was a boiler suit performance, and we got the job done. 💚🤍🏴⚽️
I went into that game totally expecting the win, there's been a gap between us and the league for years and it's widened year on year, but late on I began to resign to dropping 2 points only for my growing gloom to be rudely interrupted by Reo's winner. Thanks Reo. 😁 That middle 3 is strong and deep. Engels, McGregor, Hatate, McCowan, Bernardo...nice. Is there space in this squad for Lennon Miller? Swap plus cash for Holm? Valle makes left back deep. Sort Vale and/or Taylor's contracts or get in a AJ level player and let one go. If it's KT we need all 3. I love KT but his injury record after leaving isn't great. Need cover. Center-back? 3 first XI starters for 2 spots. If I'm super greedy, bring in McKenna and swap Welsh, Nawrocki and some cash for him - I say McKenna because Welsh is about homegrown player rules and we'd need another Scot to get the quota back up. Striker? I'd like a 3rd, it's filled well but it's not robust. My Bhoy Kyogo may need shoulder surgery and if he has to, 1 is too few. Could be tricky to keep 3 top strikers happy though. The wings? Great first choice 2, Jamesy? Good, but aged. Then it's a fall off. I'd like 1 or 2 Kuhn/Maeda level wingers. If we get that and don't lose any of the like 19 players that are quality, assuming Sinasalo is good, we are laughing as Kasper is the best ball playing keeper I've seen at Parkhead. With swirling rain and Dons players diving and kicking us we still looked assured with strong players at the start and the end of the match. We are not untouchable, it's always XI on XI and the refs would LOVE to even out the odds with a wild decision, but it is close to untouchable in terms of factors we can control on the (domestic) pitch. Do January signings qualify to be added to the UCL squad if we are still in? HH
Guys the disallowed goal was a foul in the same way that joe hart was fouled in the cup final. C’mon need to acknowledge that. Watched the game and not a classic but buoy did I celebrate that winner. The class was out of keeping with the rest of the game. 3 massive away wins at the hardest grounds outside of Ibrox. Superb.
Last night was a win it no matter what and the weather was too much. Sadly with that and AJ , kyogo and hatate for most of the game having one of there worst in a while we struggled a little tho we were better team most of the first half . I don’t understand why Bernardo got taken off but Hatate scored so I guess rodgers would have me on that one lol
Still far too slow getting forward. Both CCV and Trusty need to learn to be quicker and also look for the forward pass. McGregor needs to take more responsibility and turn on the ball instead of just passing it straight back to the the centre half. Khun has had a good start to the season but i feel we would score more goals if the wingers would sometimes just play the cross first time especially Khun who wants to beat 3 players every time. Kyogo is always starved of this type of service. Conditions played a major part but we have seen the same problems in decent weather as well. The league is pretty much done, the question is can we strengthen again in january and make it through in europe.
The usual standard of performance from Don Robertson - I think an opposing player at least needs to brandish a meat cleaver for a red card to be shown.

Fantastic result in those conditions against a very determined aberdeen, meanwhile Derek McInnes job interview at ibrox was a success 😁
