That beautiful slow march is " By Land and Sea" by Kenneth Alford ( composer of Colonel Bogey" ). When. He was Director of Music Royal Music RM Plymouth 1930 -1942 . Lovely o hear it and great drill by the GOH!
The GOH march off with the Police March. In some past NDPs, the central band makes an effort to play the relevant music representing the Army, Air Force, Navy & Police when the contingents march towards the saluting dais.
He is a Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police, which is equivalent to a Brigadier General in the Singapore Armed Forces. For any senior police officer holding the rank of Deputy Assistant Commissioner and above or any senior military officer in the Singapore Armed Forces holding the rank of Brigadier General or Rear Admiral and above, the rank epaulettes will be silver for SPF and gold for SAF.
And btw Lee Su Peng is now Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAF equivalent is BG) and is now commander of Police Operations Command Centre.
Great marching. Well done.
Anybody knows what is the bagpipes march right after the GOH slow march?
Sook Ching Chen it's a mix of 3 songs - High Road To Gailoch, Mari's Wedding and Glendural Highlanders :)
Slow March is glorious. Imo, SPF drills are better than SAF.
rindu passing out
Kind of surprised there's no colours. Still, great march past. Very prideful.
Malik Smith I assume you know when I say colours I mean regimental flags, yes?
No, only the SAF (Singapore Armed Forces) carries colours, police don't.
Begining from 2018, Police Day Parade have a state flag and the SPF colour flag paraded between the GOH contingents on the arena.
Marches are, SPF Quick March, By Land and Sea (Slow March), Glendaruel Highlanders, Maries Wedding/Highroad To Gairloch and lastly, Wings.
