Love these videos. They are addicting. The only thing I would highly recommend for you is a vapor blasting cabin. Would make those head cylinders look brand new. Top job!
I've found a seat rubber blocking the right hand intake port on a CRF 450 before......the ensuing discussion between rider and dad about who done airfilter last was hilarious
Del West makes really nice valves. I love seeing them stock on KTM's. Just another reason why I think they are the best bike for the money, even though they cost more. - That said, I prefer models with Stainless valves, but you SX fellas gotta have a little more RPM, I get it.
Ok bel lavoro il macchinario mi sembra prefessionale per fare le sedi delle valvole e l albero motore ci vanno fatte alcune modifiche serve pervlubrificare meglio il grippaggio per la ruote due dentate .❤cuore sempre e mani
Reminds me of a time I went out to repair a gt550 Kawasaki that was revving too fast on tickler, it would slow down when you pushing the carbs closed. When I revved it up a chocolate wrapper flew out the exhaust. The owner had eaten a choccie bar and threw the wrapper away but it got sucked into his non-existent air filter and got caught under the butterfly. It surprised me that it was burnt but undamaged.
Simplest way to find out is to guess at the angle ~ 18 degrees or so - and then “clock” the valve retainer with a .0005 (inch) or .001 (mm) dial indicator. What you are looking for is little to no change in reading around the valve retainer, but especially none from the top of the arc to its bottom. Higher reading at the bottom of the arc means your mill head has too steep of an angle.
@@PaulXchannel New steel valves , the titanium ones don't need it if shims aren't too thin , you can basically tell the condition of seat by thickness of shim

So how did all the paper get in the valves?? Did I miss it??

The combustion chamber, together with the valve seats and rockers is absolutely perfectly shaped...
The intake not so much tho.
👍👏
Good useful collection of proper instructions flexible wire brush magnetic driver digital torque wrench.

hi Paul X ..it seems that ktm has the same distribution system as kawasaki kxf😮
My buddy put a plastic bag over the intake on his 73 Volkswagen Beetle. It’s sucked it right in and coughed it out.

Like the mill slash valve depressor.
Meh, I would've found a big hill to bumpstart it on, will blow it all out eventually...
Wonderful to watch

Nice to have an easy one once in a while.
Great job! Well done👏👏👏
What is the degree angle that the valves interface the head? I would like to know so I can make a similar depresser for my milling table.

Ok thanks. Ya, one of these days I'll do some checking. I just thought maybe Paul knew cuz he does so many heads.
great job greetings to meet me from Indonesia😁
Nice.
Is there a business link, I have a cylinder head that needs fied
Too good, what size bore and stroke is that 350, it looks like it has quite a big piston...
Maybe bottom is from 250cc ,and it's just factory big bore like SX and EXC 200
Bravo Paul et merci beaucoup 👍👍👍
Why remove the plastic thing on the intake camshaft
You do great work, but I would not have removed that head for that reason. I’m assuming a customer job.
I would bet it didn't run correctly ,and owner wanted to be sure by having head done.
how these varible valve timing works?
Where shim sizes same as diassembled ?
