i dont think hazbin really draws from christianity. Rather, it draws from a wider Christian adjacent canon. For example, the names for a buncha the characters comes from the Book of Solomon. the rings of hell concept comes from dante's inferno. and paradise lost gives us lucifer's name and backstory. most of those things arent really "canon" to christianity

Lucifer falling from Heaven is in Christianity and very much happened. Books like the Lesser Key of Solomon more describes the seven rings of Hell and including the Ars Goetia.

@DiscussionSnake from my understanding, lucifer falling from heaven is a story originating with Paradise Lost isnt it? i dont think even the name lucifer has any bearing in the Bible or more widely recognised christian sources.

@@lemonboiyoutube Lucifer is mentioned as many different names in the Bible, such as Serpent, Satan, The Devil, and few others. Lucifer was his angel name when God created him he named him Lucifer Morningstar, but when he fell from Heaven people on earth refer to him as The Devil or Satan. In Genesis 3:1-7 it talks about how Lucifer tempts Eve to eat the Fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and Eve eats it then letting sin enter the world.

@DiscussionSnake there is no explicit confirmation that Satan's name is lucifer, or that lucifer's last anme is Morningstar. Lucifer is a translation for the hebrew "Heylel" (

Hazbin Hotel draws way more from Judaism than Christianity. Other than the obvious, you know, having a hell.

idk, i think it draws way more from less "canon" sources such as paradise lost, inferno, book of solomon, etc

Oh, I agree. I've read Paradise Lost and The Divine Comedy (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso) and I see what you mean. Only comparing relligions, it's more Judaism I find. The lack of a Christ figure and the inclusion of Lilith is very Jewish@@lemonboiyoutube

True but Christianity is the old and new testament while Judaism is just the old testament. So in a way Hazbin Hotel is based on Judaism but some Christian aspects such as the end times can be shown a little in Hazbin Hotel.

@@boiwifeyasmr4U I do agree that it seems like Jesus doesn't exist in this universe, and God seems to be not put into the picture so I can understand where you are coming from.

I will completely say as a Christian and as someone who pays close attention to what's going on in popular culture, Hazbin Hotel is extremely disappointing and very poorly made, despite having enormous potential.
On paper, Hazbin Hotel actually has a pretty good concept. Charlie the princess of hell wants to make peace with Heaven by opening a hotel to redeem sinners actually sounds like a pretty good idea. I thought it was working up until after the 6th episode, then the show became a complete mask off nightmare where it was clearly written by a morally and spiritually bankrupt, possibly agnostic, woke liberal feminists] who forgot that the plot of the show was about redemption from sin, and instead made it about justification for sin. The fact that she used demons as the protagonist of both her shows (This and Helluva Boss) is a massive warning flag I should have heeded.
Further evidence that this show was written by a feminist who is a massive misandrist (redundant, I know) is that the "antagonist" of the show is Adam, the First Man and leader of the exorcist army who is chauvinistic, foul mouthed, prideful, and crass. Despite these objectively negative qualities, HH is desperately trying to paint him as a villain, but he comes off as the actual hero of the show. I can't see him as any other way, because the show wants to challenge me with a perception of demons being innocent victims and Angels be murdering monsters. NO. As a Christian that's not going to fly with me. Angels and good and demons are evil; only a godless liberal would think otherwise.
I completely HATE the idea of demons being able to use Angelic weapons. The Angelic weapons should be like Holy Relics and burn them upon first touch, or the blessings from them should just disappear after use. There's no reason to give Angels their own version of kryptonite because of their own weapons.
Clearly these crap writers never did any research on what really happens when demons interact with actual Holy Relics. They are burned by them and fear Holy things like fire. That's really what should have happened.
Plus, after the unnecessary war with heaven and the slaughtering of Adam, the show destroyed its own plot, and made it completely pointless. Why would Charlie and the gang ever want to continue building a hotel to redeem sinners after, going to war with heaven, not getting their backing, and killing off the first man (a not so subtle message about taking down the patriarchy). Charlie could not get heaven's backing in the sixth episode, and why and how could she get it now? She can't. It's impossible now. They are are all war criminals and Heaven's greatest enemies now. They deserve nothing but punishment now.
Plus, despite her wishes to redeem sinners, she can't do it by default of being the devil's daughter. Redemption only comes from God (who is bizarrely absent from the show altogether). No other way is possible. Makes me feel sorry for her in that way.
Nothing about this show makes any sense, and it's completely pointless now. I know that a season 2 is in production, but there's no point to it. The season 1 finale played out like a series finale, and now it's a dead show.

I don't know if I mentioned this in the video but I am a Christian myself, I understand your points but they are all looked at what is true. This show is based on top of Judaism and Christianity but it's a form of entertainment and fiction. The premise of what it is based on is true but too look at something that based for entertainment purposes and say well this is wrong and that is wrong would be pointless. It's like watching Star Wars and saying the force isn't real or lightsabers aren't real which everyone knows but it's for entertainments sake. The whole point of my video was to educate people into knowing that this isn't a correct form on knowing what Christianity/Judaism is about, and to not take it too literal.
