As much as I love the manics, the Beautiful South own this song when they sing it , really, really give it feeling! God I would loveeeeeeeee to see them for one more live gig-great music & great memories x
Great, great band, great music love Jackie Abbott wonderful talented musicians THE BEAUTIFUL SOUTH SHEAR CLASS also great version of Old Blue Eyes His Back CLASS ALL ROUND.
first time i heard this sang by beautiful south was a fair few years ago, but i didnt realize it was sang by so many others, this though i think is by far the best...
Jacqui Abbott deserves far more credit than she has had so far. She is a better singer than some so called legends. I hope one day she gets the credit she deserves.
Paul gave the floor to his bandmates in this performance, they performed beautifully, but there's no doubt that his voice is the star, but he gave them the floor.
It's mad to think that if they'd have done a 10th anniversary Live Aid concert with them being at the time being two of the UK's biggest selling bands both The Beautiful South and Manic Street Preachers would have prominently featured on the London bill.
@steptoestuff Do you have ears? J sang like an angel in the blues, jazz, rock and country bits of the set! Either you are better, or I pity your ego. I know which I prefer.
I missed this on TV, but I don't see the need for non band members to 'guest' on songs - they become something else, no longer The Beautiful South. That's not a criticism of the guests, but I prefer to here the BS.
Beautiful, love Beautiful South.
Loving arms again brought a tear 💗
I only came across this recently but now I can't stop listening to it. Jaqui has a wonderful voice. Brilliant.
from an American who only recently discovered Jaqui, what a stylish and talanted singer she is! :-)

It doesn't get any better. What a brightness in an overwhelming stream of mayflies in mainstream.

You realise just how brilliant Heatons vocals are when you hear Old Red Eyes sung by someone else.
I was just thinking that as I read your comment. Not a difficult song to sing but difficult to sing as good as Paul.
Manic Street Preachers singer: good, but
it does seem to be a song made for Paul H

Jacqui Abbott deserves far more credit than she has had so far. She is a better singer than some so called legends. I hope one day she gets the credit she deserves.

As good as the invites are it just goes to show what a great team Paul and Jaqui (and the other bloke that used to play the one drum) make.

Why is paul heaton not singing
Really bad toothache that night, did fantastic just to continue with show, & gave all the others a great chance to show their talents, fantastic band
Okay forgive me I now no what I heard ;( x
James Dean Bradfield nailed Old Red Eyes is Back.
genuine talent Jacqui, X-factor style rubbish drowns out genuine talent in the UK these days
Red eyes was murdered there he didn't die......
Etta James did the best version of Loving Arms: watch?v=XorVjAXY6N4
ANY HOLE A GOAL
Jacqui Abbot 😩
Aw no where was pd Heaton...Dave uve far better sang this ;(

I missed this on TV, but I don't see the need for non band members to 'guest' on songs - they become something else, no longer The Beautiful South. That's not a criticism of the guests, but I prefer to here the BS.
It’s an interest… and the jamming vibe of the show…
