How to increase stitches (inc) in crochet

- In this crochet tutorial, I'll show you how to increase stitches (inc) when crocheting in the round to increase the size of your amigurumi piece. I'll show you two different methods to increase the single crochet stitch in the round - the regular increase stitch, and the invisible increase stitch. The invisible increase stitch is an alternative to the regular increase stitch if you notice that doing a regular increase stitch is creating holes in your amigurumi. If you do the invisible increase, you pull less on the same hole and therefore don't have as big of a hole. The increase stitch is often abbreviated as “inc” or written as something like “2 sc in the same stitch”.

I cannot express my ABSOLUTE appreciation for you 😭 This is so clear, I swear all the other videos do it so fast.

I totally agree! ❤One of the best videos on how to do this. 🎉thank you
@@annabellemae I was so confused until this video too
Thank you for such perfect clear instructions. Some of the others I’ve seen are either so fast, or hand in the way. I’m starting to believe I may be able to crotchet after all 🥰
Literally the only video I've found that actually teaches what to do. The overlaid illustrations and highlights are such a HUGE help. Without them there is no way to confirm if what you're doing is correct or not.
I love how she actually be showing it and uses lines to really let you see what's going on ❤ thank you so much

Can you have a side-by-side video of a single crochet stitch (sc) and an increase stitch (inc)? I’ve gone through your Pierre the Penguin videos like 4x, even writing the directions, and the directions are exactly the same.
1. Hook through orange marker hole - 3 strands on hook
2. Yarn over.
3. Hook through first 2 strands - 2 strands on hook
4. Yarn over
5. Hook through last 2 strands - 1 strand on hook
I don’t understand how these stitches are different and your videos don’t make it clear they are. Thanks!
Can you tell me what kind of yarn you use, and also thank you very much because i learn how to increase from the video❤❤❤
Right at the beginning, when you say to “put the hook in the next hole,” which hole are you referring to? I’m struggling to figure it out, would really appreciate some help please!
What yarn are you using?
you legend
THANK YOU SO MUCH I thought I was just stupid
You're not stupid, others go way too fast.
Does anyone know why the stitch count would be off when doing increases, or even just keeping the count the same?
OK, got it...going rewatch decreasing before I start of Gertrude again tho cuz I forgot...
What is the name of this yarn? I want to buy this type of yarn and I can't find it anywhere
I'm pretty lost. I got pretty far but then realized I'm reading it wrong XD.
I read in the pattern I follow ( sc, inc) x6 (18) what does that mean?
So am I doing a sc and Inc in each stich 6 times which makes a total of 18 stiches? But then that would mean I go into the hole 3 times. 1 is the sc and then 2 times in the same whole to increase. I'm so confused :(
Then with decrease they put (sc, dec) x6 (18)
Later then it's in flo (sc, inc) x9
Am I doing all that 9 times in ever stich?
I'm so lost but I love this seal pattern I'm doing
Im struggling with the samw thing 😭
How were you able to understan patterns?? For example I saw this pattern that say (3sc, inc) x6 im struggling alot with increase and decrease right now 😢
@@chupapievi8702 from my understanding you do 3 sc then increase and do that 6 times
What type of yarn is this???? It’s so easy to see the stitches
It almost reminds me of shoelaces
They created a yarn for the crochet kits its called easy peasy yarn it doesn't fray and its very easy to see the stitches
Is 1 increase right?
So is that 1 inc?
Help!! My increase isn’t making a bowl shape but it’s going flat! Whyyyyyy!?!? Someone please help.
Well when ur reading a tutorial it usually says
(4 sc, inc) x6
Now 4 sc means that you do four regular single crochets
Inc means after doing the 4 sc do two single crochets in the same hole
Then u repeat that pattern six times
(Note: the number doesn’t have to be four it ranges from 1-5 or maybe more idk)
@@Potatoppl1225THABK YOU SO MUCH;!!!
So a increase stitch is basically 2 single crochet stitches in the same hole
People who actually understood
👇
It isn’t working
This video is much or clear it helped me much better th-cam.com/users/shorts5aDHW7yOICk?si=ExsyBhufd1l37ekQ ❤
it wasnt that clear to me
same 😢
State why so that they can use the feedback
Ur kidding right
So basically you know when you do an sc (single crochet) there will be a line attached to the hook next to it and basically it will have a hole on it, it has a hole because you already put your hook in it meaning you did one single crochet now do another single crochet in that same hole stitch single I just said and that is an increase stich ( 2 stitches in one stitch) and if you still don't understand then watch the video at a slower playback speed hope this helped!
useful but u talk way too much
this makes so much sense 👏🏼
THANK YOU finally a tutorial that is not fast and uses actual understandable words🫶🙏💕💗💖
