fps seems to be pretty low for a lot of people on full release, even myself, so hopefully they realize it and release a patch soon

Its normal I’m playing on very low and only textures are looking bad everything is still looking good
yeah, since open beta the game feels really laggy especially during gunfights and destructions, people were saying that it ran better than closed beta but it’s the complete opposite for me
What would you recommend the sensitivity for 400 dpi
i wouldnt put view distance on low. medium is the best option for it. from my testing it seems low view distance used different models then medium-epic. this is especially noticeable with trees. some trees on low view distance will seem to have alot more branches/trunks then the same tree on medium view distance. This also applies to bushes but in the inverse. high-epic view distance makes bushes more full, which in turn makes them harder to see through. TLDR use medium view distance lmao

This is a awesome video in increased my fps from about 90-100 on average low 80s to 120 stable thank you
honestly not only did this help my fps but it also helped to stop the stutters that i had in game. fps was an easy 100+ fps on my 3080ti.

I’ve heard that you don’t want to keep all your settings low and keep at least texture, AA, view distance and effects on medium because you’ll bottle neck your cpu or something idk I’m not a tec person but it helped me get a little bit more frames and keep the games a bit more smoother
Textures are typically at a higehr resolution that then must be scaled down, this processes is more heavy on the CPU but lowers GPU drawtimes, thus why it causes a bottleneck
true i gained like 7-8 fps
my cpu is definitely not bottlenecked and I play on all low with view distance on medium
Thanks for the settings guide! My WindowsClient folder only has a GameUserSettings folder and no .ini files. Any idea what I might be missing?

GameUserSettings should be an ini file, I see some similar options within the file so I'm assuming the setting will also apply when pasted here

Like others have stated, I neither have the Engine options. Just the GameUserSettings in that folder. Do we add it in that then?

Hey man, Love the video, love the settings! one thing I have noticed is that when using a Heavy character with mesh shield it now glitches my gun out... any ideas on why or how I can fix this? Thanks MAN!

When i installed the registry file my NVCP also showed a "GPU Scaling" checkbox underneath the sharpness and image grain sliders. I'm assuming that should be unchecked right? It's checked by default
it seems to be CPU intensive. I find that the balance preset for DLSS is the sweet spot for me. Going performance mode doesn't give me more FPS.
Of course , lowering the graphics won't fix your high CPU usage , only better cpu or Frame generation will.

@@tehJimmyy why shouldn’t I use DLSS? In some games like Death Stranding it’s better than native res with a free performance uplift. Sorry for having a 3080 which apparently from you is now a potato.
yeah cpu usage wasn't so bad in the beta its now showing up as 100% usage at all times on my 12400f
@complys are you opening the regedit everytime? looking at my control panel now days later it wasn't activated and seems i have to open every time.

Have you figured out a way to adjust gamma/brightness? On some night maps I can't see anything. Especially when there is bright day outside haha.
I ran in extreme low FPS with 1080p and no upscaling. While a 1440p with FSR balanced is way better. I would prefer less input latency, but it's umplayable for me. RX 5700xt + amd 3900x
Omg thank you I changed to TAAU and I’m averaging around 166fps and stopped experiencing horrible lag and frame drops

RTX Global Illumination should be set to dynamic - low so the lighting gets updated more clearly when destroying buildings. It can help light up some areas that are usually stuck being dark when the lighting is set to static.
Underrated comment! People don’t have much sense when it comes to graphics.
this is an fps guide, raytracing is one of the most demanding settings most people can turn off so this is invalid. if your pc can handle it and hits the number you need with it on then all be.@@JoeyMx

DLSS quality gives a massive fps boost over TAAU. I'll take the slight blurriness for all those FPS.
it depends on ppl's specs so that's good for you but for myself TAUU is better
For me DLSS performance is pretty nice too , tho i am on 4k

do you know how to find the engine.ini file? when I open the folder I only get the gameusersettings file and i've tried re-installing the game but it still doesn't appear.

Would you mind sharing your Nvidia Control Panel Low Latency Mode setting? I have it on Ultra (to be used with G-Sync and V-Sync ON) but I'm not sure if that's the same as having in-game Nvidia Reflex Low Latency as ON + BOOST. Thanks!
It's better. Reflex it's the same as low latency mode but better :)
I also use the same combo as you. Also low latency mode at ultra doesn't work for dx12 games.
Nvidia reflex setting will override the low latency mode in nvidia control pannel so its better to set it as off
I know that when u have the game in low is hard to see invisibles (i had it) but my friend has a better pc and told me that he can see them pretty well, does anybody know what option is?
use does not work with scroll wheel if you're trying to do most things, effects can effect fps by over 20, and there is no engine.ini
Why is it recommended to use the old sharpening instead of NIS?
In display & resolution I have a option for frame rate limit I have kept it on unlimited is it okay or should I change?

I wish there were more sound settings, I feel like I cant really detect distance to any degree via sound, just general direction. Have we found out anything about night mode maybe?
Try turning on spatial sound, you might have to dl an app. It's in your sound settings, not the finals sound settings btw. It reduces a lot of the bass but helps with hearing where sounds are coming from better.

does the sharpening add latency? also a bit unrelated but does ninvidia overlays add any inputlag?

@@complys where do you get those infos btw? I searched various tests and the newest dlss supposedly doesnt add anything negative in other games. But im not sure which version is used in the finals tbh
Amd sharpening filter has 0 perf impact, sucks that Nvidia cant offer the same

i saw somewhere that disable fullscreen optimization is good for windows 11, only 10
when I add the Nvidia Sharpening you gave us I can't launch the game, it just keeps crashing. When I turn it off, it works.
Unless ur game is lagging alot you should really think about having raytracing on low instead of static. This game was made for raytracing it literally looks 10x better with just the low setting. And its much easier to see imo in many dark parts of the maps

Hey man. I just started playing The Finals, for some reason i think my game has some sort of mouse input delay where it feels like it has motion blur? or idk how to explain. but i test it on other games there is no mouse input delay its just on the finals? do you have any suggestions?

how did you get that res, i cant change it to streched
nvidia control panel - change resolution - customize - enable resolutions not exposed by display - create new resolution - put the res you want then press test and click yes want to keep it and then reopen the game if it's running and the custom res should be in the resolution list

Useful things that could be helpful in the future: Oblivity Training Drills for the Finals, with included sensitivities to properly practice in an aim training software. Custom Curve Settings for mouse sensitivity curve (because windows pointer precision off sometimes just isn't enough or some people are more comfortable with a custom mouse movement curve to their preferences and sensitivities.)

You are the 2nd person recommanding TAAU instead of DLSS saying that you'll get more fps... But on my config (RTX 3090 24GO VRam / i9 12900k / 4k monitor) I have like 70fps with TAAU but like 200+ fps with DLSS xD
so I have an ryzen 7 5800x and a 3070 I get usage around (gpu 60-70%) and (cpu 45-60%) am I doing something wrong ? I have like 120-144 fps in game. I dont know if I am bottlenocking but I do not think so.

Don't use Disable fullscreen optimization for DX12 games, only for DX11 or DX9 games.

My fps has been like 80-160, its soo inconsistence and most of the time i only get 80.
