Hello Andreanne. I buy from Mimifabrica in Ontario they have beautiful fabrics. They have a tencel french terry that is to die for. I love what I buy from Beyond the Pink Door in Ireland. She has a live video every Sunday and shows what fabrics arrived that week. I am never disappointed. I buy from Blended Thread Fabrics, Prairie Love Knits and Black Bird Fabrics. Love seeing what you make.

Hi Andrea, oh the wows of finding time for personal sewing! I can so relate! Bamboo jersey is something I dream about but the postal service in South Africa is unreliable and import taxes are over the top, So I will live vicariously through you 😊. Your new fabric is stunning!

Love your haul! I think I have the same striped jersey from Minerva, I made a tshirt for myself and bodysuit for my little man :) Really love that jersey and I want it in all the colours! I’ve never had to pay duty on Minerva orders, but did have surprise charges from the US. It’s pretty random, as I once received an order from LA and there were no fees, so I ordered again from the same shop and then was charged at the door 😏 Also ordered from Lamazi Fabrics in the UK and there were no custom fees. For gorgeous prints and high quality wovens I buy from Fine Fabrics Canada! For kids knits, L’Oiseau fabrics, Mimifabrics, Non Non Oui.. Can you tell I love buying fabric 🙄🤪

Hello Andreanne, you have some lovely fabrics there! It’s not always easy to find time to sew with work and a baby so I’m looking forward to seeing your makes. Do you end up paying duty for Minerva fabrics? I recently got a haul of stripes from Fabric Snob..nice narrow ones. Mimi’s Fabrics in Kanata have great fabrics and notions. My top shop for linen is Pure Linen Envy..,great prices and quality although I am expecting an order from Australia. Also, DailyLike Fabrics and TwoONine fabrics are excellent…mostly cotton and linen blends. They have flat rate shipping too!

I just bought some linen from G.K. Fashion Fabrics in Toronto. It's lightweight and although I've washed it I haven't made anything out of it. I'm also wondering about duty and customs handling fees from fabric from Minerva. I once bought some fabric from the States. They shipped by UPS and the customs and shipping were way more than the fabric. 🙈

About the customs handling fees, I can only speak from my experience, but I've never had to pay duties when ordering from Minerva (in the UK). They order free shipping on order over £50, otherwise it's a flat fee of £4.99. So it really isn't that much more expensive, except that its in pound sterling so 1£ is about 1.5 CAD.

Hi! I am in Québec, and never have to pay duties for my minerva orders ☺️ and they have free shipping over 50 pounds! The change rate is around 1,5 pounds for 1 cad so that’s to keep in mind😅
