Deaf Role Model- Rajesh Ketkar

My name is Rajesh Ketkar, and I live in Vadodara, Gujarat. I serve as the Project Director at MBM and the Education Director at the Orjet Foundation, focusing on teaching Deaf children.
Growing up in a Deaf family, I embraced my identity as a Deaf individual with a disability. This acceptance has empowered me to raise awareness and advocate for accessibility. One significant issue I discovered was the lack of understanding among Deaf individuals about vaccines. To address this, I translated vital information into ISL through MBM News.
I am grateful to my family for using ISL, which unknowingly became my first language and shaped my identity. My life journey has taken me across India and around the world, where I continue to promote independence and awareness for the Deaf community.
I envision a future where Deaf individuals thrive independently, on their own terms, with equal access and opportunities.
