1. Having an historical figure as a main character over an original character.
2. Having a main character not from the culture and region.
3. Using Chinese themed buildings for Sengoku period Japan. Like how do they mess this up? It reminds me of the Puerto Rican/Cuban flag fiaso that happened TWICE in Insomniac Spiderman.
4. Ubisoft working with Sweet Baby Inc for the game.
5. The very likely girl boss approach they will go with Naoe is noticeable.
6. The whole pricing fiasco is insane and they are trying to nickel and dime you.
7. Ubisoft being involved in the Wikipedia edits is an issue.
And that's putting it mildly.
No one should support a company who hinders their own creative and storytelling capability just to check the usual suspect boxes.
They think they're virtuous by decree when in fact they're the very thing they proclaim to fight against.

It's funny how all of a sudden we HAVE TO play as a supposed historical character in an Assassin's Creed game.
Where as before it was always a fictional character surrounded by historical characters mixed with some other made up ones.
It helped drive the narrative that all of it hidden history and make it more palatable and believeable to a degree.

I was worried about the direction Ubicrap has with Asians already when trailer for new Prince of Persia came out. And now with Assassin's Creed in Japan.. won't be surprised if their next projects set in China and India are also using black male protagonist instead of an actual Asian. They already blacked Iran/Persia and most likely are going to do it with other projects set in Asia.

Japanese does not mandate the usage of plurals like the examples you mentioned, singular can refer to plurals.

I was a massive fan of AC back in the day and I’ve been playing since the first one with Altair. This is the first game I’m not buying.
Mirage was my first. Aside from missing a couple other titles.
