Man this guy blew up considerably quick, but there's a good reason for it. He's actually an extremely talented musician as well as a poet. Plus it doesn't hurt that his sound is also derived from other successful artists like Lorde and MGMT. This song is so strange to me because I get the bizzare at feelings whenever I listen to it. Børns was my jam when I was 12 years old, and I have really strong song association so whenever I listen to it I get the same feeling I did 4 years ago. I think 12 year old me absolutely loved this song because I feel like I’m being transported to a different world or my world is changing and it’s such a bizzare feeling because I have NO idea what I was doing when I blasted this song the most. I may have biking on that familiar road, running away from the things I didn’t like at home, or I might have been playing it on repeat while reading my favorite book, in another world where anything was possible. This song is so strange to me because I get the bizzare at feelings whenever I listen to it. Børns was my jam when I was 12 years old, and I have really strong song association so whenever I listen to it I get the same feeling I did 4 years ago. I think 12 year old me absolutely loved this song because I feel like I’m being transported to a different world or my world is changing and it’s such a bizzare feeling because I have NO idea what I was doing when I blasted this song the most. I may have biking on that familiar road, running away from the things I didn’t like at home, or I might have been playing it on repeat while reading my favorite book, in another world where anything was possible. It’s also so funny to me because he literally says “I’ve got the strangest feeling, this isn’t our first time around”, which is exactly how I feel about this song. All I know is that I miss it oh so much and sometimes I wish I would be 12 again, jamming to the same music, and sometimes I wish I could meet my 12 year old self and just give her a million hugs for being so cool. The nostalgia kind of hurts, but I hope I never lose it because this was too special and I want to always be able to look back and hope I can see how much I’ve grown from that little person and done justice to her. All I want to wish for now is that I find the most special friend in the world to jam to this song together, and make our own little movie.
