things are so hard in Egypt for tourists, everyone wants to scam you.I was in sharm in April, when I left the palma beach and picked a taxi to take me to IlMircato, I forgot my golden rule when traveling which is to ask the price first. So when I asked the guy how much it cost, he just blurted 1000 Egyptian pounds, I was horrified, and I said " let me out of this car now".In the end we agreed on 100 Egyptian £.Anyway I have really enjoyed your video.
Im travelling to Sharm end of August 2022, i pray i don't see covid restrictions, or people wearing gimp masks, Otherwise i'll be tempted to return to blighty asap
i was there alot because i always going to dahab : about the ATM: with a Credit Card it always cost s me like few cents depends on how much i take from it , but it s not expensive at all , SimCard is okay , better to ask an egyptian to buy and registrate one for you if u know him , but of course for few days it s okay to buy one from this place you v been , Taxi Driver there are thiefs on the Airport , they know exactly you dont have other change to leave the Place , you can go straight from Building Exit to the Main Street , it s like 300m , there you can catch a taxi for less than what you paid
At this point there is no Uber in Sharm El Sheikh. It's always taxi plus negotiating the price first. They want 5$ , you say 2$, then they want 3$ but you want 2$ and then they say yes come inside. They drive you and at the destination they always try to get extra money but you say you agreed to 2$ and you give them the money. It's part of the culture and no one has to get rude or take it personal.
go to official store , if U to recharge , u can buy prepaid card then charge your line , u can ask for how u do , when you buy the line , also there are applications for the bet companies
I believe 20$ for 30 Km ride is very fair, its more than 50% less than what you pay in your country. you need to build your negotiation on these fundamentals, otherwise you are the one who's ( don't wanna say scamming ) cuz this would sound a bit rude but lets say you'd be not fair to a man who's waiting for hours to get a client.
Very stupid take! You sound foolish! It’s relevant whether it’s 50% less in his country! Trying to scam tourists is never and will never be right, fool!
For someone whose on vacation you seem to have a negative perspective about everything it seems in your commentary and remarks. The taxi was fair and you did end up paying 50 pounds more after waiting there for ages. What tips did you give anyways? Btw what can one use for long drives from cairo to sharm al shaikh?
I always make the hoteltaxi pick me up, because the taxidrivers at the airport know you are tired and just want to get going, so they ask for way too much money. For the hotel taxi you also pay in the reseption, not to the driver. They take 150 - 200 egyptian pounds. Then feel free to tip the driver if you want to. Its up to you. The driver from the hotel will also take you wherever you want after that any day of the week. where you offcouse pay him. I really hate Sharm airport. The people working there are arrogant and treat you like shitt, espesially on your way out of Egypt. But the SIM card was correct.
Pas facile ce début de voyage ... et clairement au maghreb, les Taxis sont souvent chères pour les Touristes ... mais bon à Paris, ils font les memes magouilles aux Aeroports ORLY ou CDG ... Faut rester prudents. A suivre pour la suite ...
I am living in Cairo, I am not agency , but I may offer my help to any foreigner in Cairo and Hiza for free. just to make people know who is the real Egyptian and how generous he is
250 is a very normal price, it's titles like this that hurt the tourism in egypt so much, i know they have alot they need to work on, but you can just always assume that people are trying to scam you! Btw they were not fighting, they were saying that you are very annoying and if someone can just drive him to his hotel!

1000 EGP?
I paid 7 dollars to go from my hotel back to the airport.
Not everybody try to scam you…
You could do with being more prepared, you can get visa, e-sim, cash before you get there.
You are absolutely right
What an experience 😢❤🎉😢😮😅😅
I loved it!

TIP: there is UBER in Egypt (at least in Cairo) it is a very good affordable option.
Yes I used it in Cairo after but when I was in Sharm el Sheikh was no User and just Taxi
@@BenjiAroundTheWorld If you do have to use a taxi make sure to ask him to turn on the taximeter(Addad in Egyptian).
I had Uber drivers ask for cash when I got inside the vehicle

Is it just for one month?
I think it’s one month but then in the city I get 36gb for $12. So you can recharge anytime!
@@BenjiAroundTheWorld where about ?
I read reviews many shops in the town cheating about Gb, they usually give you half of data that you buy..

10€ for 35km is perfectly fine, everything else is just a scam.
It's not measured that way, each country has it's own pricings you can't just pay whatever you pay in your country.

Je ne connais pas les prix de tous les Taxi, mais je pense que sur place vous pourrez vous renseigner auprès des locaux
