101998LJM That's because they are powered by the detector rail. Do you know anything about minecraft? The detector rail powers the redstone connected to the noteblocks AND it powers the rail ahead. Get your facts right. EDIT: And the reason the rails light up as you approach them is because a detector rail outputs a redstone signal when a cart goes over it. The signal it outputs would be transferred to the rail ahead, in this case, the powered rail.
