I am certainly no pro, but I used a diesel backhoe to move some rocks on a family property for a few hours. The amount of diesel fumes I inhaled in that time was terrifying. Would love to repeat with this electric beauty!

How do you switch operating patter on a super N 580 extendedhoe from iso to Sae or backhoe to excavator?

      Hello Eduardo,
Switching the Backhoe controls from SAE (Backhoe-Controls) to ISO (Excavator Controls) is incredibly easy in any CASE backhoe loader, equipped with pilot controls.
On the right pilot control tower (with the seat facing rearwards) there are two buttons:
      1. The top, 3-position rocker switch is the Backhoe Pilot Enable switch, which will enable/disable backhoe controls, including swing, boom, arm, bucket, and stabilizer movement. This is a great safety feature to ensure the backhoe does not move due to accidental input
      2. The bottom button is a 2-position rocker switch with a ½ icon. In accordance with the sticker directly to the right of the buttons, Position 1 is backhoe/SAE pattern, and position 2 is excavator/ISO pattern. It is important to know that this is orange tab is a locking button to protect against accidental input and the operator will need to push up on the lock tab (toward the center of the button) in order to change the pattern, pushing the lock tab back down, once the desired pattern is selected. The pattern change button will glow orange only when in Position 2 (excavator/ISO pattern).

@@Caseatwork thank you so much I appreciate you responding. I have been using a case backhoe for the past 4 days now. I have to say it is the best backhoe I have operated.

I'm gonna miss the sound the diesel engine makes when this machine starts.

And when you are on a large construction job with no electricity installed at the site then what?

CASE recognizes EV products are not meant for every application and operation. If you’re dropping your backhoe off at a site to work in a field for days or weeks at a time, you’ll need a diesel-powered machine (don’t worry, we have 10 models to choose from). If you’re in a metro area and are trailering each day back to your shop or can get to local charging stations (the 580EV is compatible with any J1772 Level 2 automotive style charger), EV is a great option! Your local CASE dealer can help you determine if electric equipment is right for your application. I have gotten to run both it's nice that it is quiet but it has alot less power and while the gas or diesel powered burn about the same amount of fuel when performing even very strenuous tasks the electric starts falling off but for light task it is great I personally well stick with the power of the gas and diesel powered

Wow, putting in a gas line with a machine that burns 62% coal and 11% natural gas. How "green" can you get?
    How much? In dollars.
How long does it run on a charge?
How hard is it to change batteries?
And, how much is a battery pack?

Farmer Bill, the units we have in the field with National Grid among others will help us evolve to alternative fuels, including electric machines that are both ‘green’ and practical. Answers to your questions are below.
      How much? In dollars.
The 580EV model is not yet a production machine, pricing will be available when it is available to the general public.
How long does it run on a charge?
The CASE 580EV was designed with specific customers in mind, like Utilities. The battery charge and machine performance support a full day’s operation.
How hard is it to change batteries?
Batteries on electric vehicles are like engines, so they are designed for the life of the machine. They are not intended to be a routine service item like existing batteries on today’s diesel construction equipment.
And, how much is a battery pack?
Today, electric vehicle battery packs for construction equipment are not manufactured at production volumes yet. For that reason, battery pack are still considered specialty equipment with relative costs to special equipment.

New York State does not run on 62% coal. Where are you getting your stats from?

Good for the environment? Yeah I doubt that. But at least its quiet for these low workload applications.
