It worked this one time, in this one game. If you played them another 9 times, they would have won them all. Booth only had so many perfectly timed tackles in his boots
@@davidchidi577 They need no excuse. They went as far as their god given talent allowed them to go. The reason Bafana are at the bottom end is because someone denied the opportunity to some of these lads . Should all continued, we could have been far indeed.
The football we played that day, was top class.. I am just so dissapointed in where the level of our football is now.. Shame on you, Danny Jordaan and SAFA..
If South Africans maintain their football they can beat any team, it’s a unique style that makes your opponents to start watching and clap hands , don’t copy foreign football u have the best style here u even beat the samba Brazil style
SAFA need to allow the likes of Shakes Mashaba to develop our youngsters again. Shakes started to coach these boys at u15 level and moved them to u17, u20 up to u23. He know how to maximize the SA footballers talent, he know which playing systems suits our players the best. The likes of Owen Da Gama, 10111 Zwane, Khan etc can also do this job
Shakes should develop I agree but he should not be head coach . He had a hell of a squad at the 2000 olympics and he failed to make full use of them . Bafana chowed Brazil sure but they got chowed by Japan and Slovakia as well. And at AFCON 2015 ,Shakes made history by selecting 3 different keepers during the group stages .
@@SphakamisoDaProposal There is a certain group of coaches that are more suitable at the development level. The great Bra Shakes is one of those coaches.

😄 Oooooh, what a team man, quality from the back to the attackers. These guys played with passion, confidence, and determination. They weren't intimidated at all!!!
Carlos Alberto Pereira always said we need to get our development structures to be 100% and then we can produce more players to compete in the top level in Europe and have a strong national team
That squad needed quality coach look at the lineup..Pule,Delron Buckley, Bennie Wire,Fortune my godness,i remember quite well that game..Problem with SA we lack coaching, under 23,under 20,recently under 17,who to blame ofcourse Safa we have the talent
The late Clive Barker for Bafana x2 & Shakes Mashaba for Under 23 were victimized by SAFA administrators, hence our football never developed and reached its fullest potential. I blame the Players Union & Football Legends & soccer fans for keeping quiet. This under 23 squad should have played @ the world cup 2002, but Jomo's arrogance was allowed once again to prevail Nxx.
Agreed. It all began in 2002 when Jomo and SAFA forced themselves on Carlos Queiroz by Jomo being appointed Technical director . With all due respect, what could Jomo teach Carlos? Carlos even went on to be Alex Ferguson's assistant at Manchester United and won the EPL and Champions Leaue as well . Carlos left Bafana a month before the 2002 world cup because he was fed up with SAFA interfering with his job and forcing Jomo onto him. Carlos had a plan . Carlos only lost 1 competitive game as coach of Bafana Bafana and 2 friendly gamea. He even managed to qualify us for the 2002 world cup with 3 points to spare and he qualified us for AFCON 2002 . Bare in mind the AFCON 2002 and 2002 World cup qualifiers took place in one calendar year and Bafana qualified for both tournaments without losing a game . If Carlos had stayed ,I reckon Bafana would have gone to the quaterfinals of the 2002 world cup and they probably would have qualified for the 2006 world cup and gone on to reach the semi finals of the 2010 world cup.
Clive Barker was victimised by some clowns in the media who were pushing for youngsters to be selected for Bafana Bafana just a year before the 1998 world cup . In 1997,under Clive Barker ,Bafana BAFANA played to a 1-1 draw against France with a team filled with old players like Neil Tovey and late Sizwe Motaung . A year later at the 1998 world cup under Troussier , Bafana Bafana were destroyed 3-0 in the group stages by the same France even though Troussier selected mostly the youngsters the media wanted .
As SA we stopped playing this way a long time ago because it was argued that we were not scoring, only dominating. But our argument as the soccer fans was why they were not developing players since the only problem was goals but soccer bosses were arrogant and never listened.
Matthew Booth, was hot 🔥 in this game. Bu unfortunately during the day when we needed him the most during 2010 world cup he wasn't called up. And he was playing the best games of his life in Russia. That is the sad state of affairs in South African football.
