probably the best series ever made. Gotta admit at first I was devestated when Ragnar got killed off but they managed to save the series pretty well with Björn and Ivar

Helmets are optional with these magnificent hairstyles ... very heroic
Many vikings did not have helmets when plundering. They did not own any. As the whole thing witch axes instead of sword, was because axes was something you already had for chopping wood with at home.
They were farmers, not soldiers. Some just had plundering as a side hobby ;)
Sadly they did not have these awesome hairdos :(
@@Keldarise Yes they were farmers, but you need to show me some serious proof that they didn't wear some sort of head protection. Not wearing a helmet is the stupidest thing you can do in fighting. You leave the most important part of your body unprotected. They had their life on the line and for sure had some sort of helmet/headwear when they expected a fight.

Note, when I'm saying plundering, I'm talking about pillaging churches and villagers. Not fighting other soldiers.
The Jarl's obviously had their own fighters, and supplied them with basic protection.

Spartans were more well equppied and trained imo
@@mzashtiker while they were equipped Viking did have iron weapons while Spartans had bronze. Vikings would win because of the way better weapon quality as iron will cut right through bronze. But if the both had iron then most likely I’d say Spartans but that’s only speaking in hypotheticals
