That bipod was "lost" by many soldiers as it was not often needed and heavy as hell.

Same as the carry handle, I think.

I really enjoy the occasional longer format disassembly.

I have a BAR produced by Ohio Ordinance some 30 years ago. At that time they were only producing what they called a”manually operated Rifle”.
It is basically a 1981A2 with their receiver and with the components of the gas system not installed. They were calling it a “MOR”. I was one of the first to own their first generation of the BAR. It is identical to the top BAR. It does not look like the bottom BAR.
This is one of my favorite firearms.

I had the opportunity to fire the BAR on full auto at "Battlefield Vegas." That is one hell of a piece. You don't want to be on the receiving end.

Wow, courageous and painstaking patience in those dueling disassemblies . Well done, sir.

Great video Chris! It was cool to see range footage from IV8888, I bet 2Aedu was smiling all day after firing that! Thank you for this video.

Fun fact... One of the first users of the BAR was John Browning's son, Lt. Val Browning in 1918.

Very nice. Waiting for my Ohio Ordnance to be delivered next month. Having a hard time to find a blank firing adaptor. Most places seem to be sold out unfortunately.

You may try a thin brass shim under the one rotating pin to prevent the metal wear on the receiver…🤷🏻‍♂️

Interesting fact, there are different size front sight posts to zero the rifle, mine shit 3” high w out question. Sent me back extra eights of different heights and the ammo they zeroed it with!
    My stock came off easy.

Thank you for saying that about the peep sight! That’s exactly what I’ve always thought. Great target sight; terrible battle sight.

Are they still producing the hcar? If so, can you get one for review?

    • @MarksmanTV

I don't know if they are or are not still making them. I doubt they would send one to me for review... I bought the 1918A3 SLR with my own money at the full retail price. If they did, however, I would review it! Thanks for watching!

@@MarksmanTV They are making a new production run that started in December 2021. I ordered one December 7th the day I heard about the new batch. When I picked up mine last week I saw many racks of HCAR''s being assembled and I asked if any of them were still available they said that the entire run was already sold out. I live in Dayton Ohio And if you are ever within a reasonable driving distance I would let you use my HCAR to review. I also have an1918A3SLR I bought in 1998 out of the second run they made mine has all GI parts my barrel is date stamped May 1945. My mother said I was crazy to pay $2,500 for a rifle made out of fifty year old parts. I told her I don't care about the price I want it and it will always be worth more than I paid for it if ever have to sell it.

As much as is I loved these gun the rounds were so freaking heavy. I was six foot 210 ponds and two ammo cans just wore me out. I think 223 was wa better round plus they didn't get so hot. The barrel was thick enough. 223 was easy be to carry. Bar was to heavy

What the hell does anyone need a big ass, heavy, semi-auto rifle? Just giggles, I suppose because practicality ain’t in the equation!
