It's interesting to see this was filmed on a dull, autumn day after a rain shower rather than a bright, sunny, summer day (as with pretty much all other OBs filmed in stately home parkland)...
They definitely got more and more ambitious and acrobatic with time. There are at least a few lifts and cartwheels in series two and three, but it does seem that early on there was a lot more standing on the spot and dancing, which sometimes made it feel a bit static.
@@VideotapeFTW if you have 30 kids you're limited with the choreography you can do... plus lots of the kids seemed younger in the early series. once there were only 10 kids the choreographer can suddenly spend more concentrated time with them. I honestly think this is mainly what it is. In the very first series wit the Pattison kids there are SO many of them it woulda been hard to do more difficult things.
If you look - In the early days I note that there are more small groups of kids merging together - the small groups all practicing separately first, kinda thing.
@@nixxie2390 I could be proved wrong on this as we only have two episodes of the first series, but in those we have, a lot of the time the Kids don't really interact with one another individually while dancing. Like you say, isolated groups. But, besides anything else, when the show was brand new, the choreographers and musical directors probably had no idea what they were going to be dealing with or what was possible, so it makes sense for them to start 'safe' and go from there.
