- Gobind Singh was a soldier in the British Indian Army during the first world war. During an attack on the German Kildare trench in France, he displayed unmatched bravery and carried critical messages from his regiment to Brigade HQ and cheated death 3 times. For his unprecedented act of bravery, he was one of the first Indian soldiers to be awarded the Victoria Cross - the highest gallantry award in Britain. In this video, I have explained the story of Lance Daffadar Gobind Singh in Hindi and the story of how he won the Victoria Cross during the first world war.

The 21 Sikhs were posthumously awarded the Indian Order of Merit, at that time the highest gallantry award which an Indian soldier could receive.
