I agree about the sound option. I guess with "work" you can install a sound DCC, Thats what i want, maybe more so of other features. At 56yrs i finally jumped in and bought my first, a older Kato starter set with the ES44AC "Gevo" CSX engine and mixed freight set. It was like new, in box, everything there, no issues at all...for $129 on ebay. Awesome deal, HAD to go with Kato

I'm on the same boat. I prefer highest level of detail BUT Kato is just unbeatable! Also, Kato is notorious with the Microtrains coupler issue....some Gevos, some ACes, some SD70Ms etc take the 2004 coupler and some take the 1015, aka trial and error!!
