George performed this at his recital in the 21st Annual Music Festival at Walnut Hill organized by the Foundation for Chinese Performing Art on August 10, 2012.
Among the last piano sonatas of Joseph Haydn played with all due respect for the maturity and majesty of this great work. Sound music from a sane mind. Haydn's hallmark to express the certain mood down through time. I listens in particular to the way George played the brief development in the 2nd movement, the longer development in the 1st and the cadence and moods in the 3rd. All the tempi were good. Of course by this time George has already graduated from Harvard and New England Conservatory. Hope he still plays Haydn because as simple as he looks, it's still some of the best music one can play. Best to George and his brother Andrew too.
Absolutely beautiful and well done, but didn't you play the exact same sonata last year in the same recital venue? It would be good to hear what you can do with another one.
1st mov: 0:10
2nd mov: 6:01
3rd mov: 11:28
Bravo ! Your touching is so expressive and Your musicality is so natural !
Again George, always a magnificent performance in the musical and technical excellence.
