This happened to me today. I've been having intermittent issues with my Fossil Carlyle not staying connected and charging on the charging puck. Then this evening when picking it up, the middle ring came off entirely from the watch. I tried to situate it back, but it still wasn't charging.
Since the Gen5 is pretty much useless to me as I have a different watch already ordered, I might see about doing this repair and rehoming the watch if it is successful.

No better feeling then repairing instead of replacing. Nice fix.
Also, if that is the reason it wasn’t charging and it happens to come apart again without further damage. Maybe some stronger epoxy will do?

Can you find another back plate to replace it?

Very thankful for the video, as I was doing this the outer ring came completely off, and as I was applying super glue some got in the hole that the piece goes into. Is that a magnetic connection in the hole also? I've used isopropyl alcohol to remove it, and placed it all together to try but it doesn't seem to be charging

If I recall correctly there is a pin on the charging ring that goes thru the hole in the plastic back plate which contacts the pad on the motherboard. Maybe try a pin or a piece of wire (from a bread bag tie, etc) to clear the super glue out of the hole?
There is a video on TH-cam where they removed the backplate and showed the inside contacts on the motherboard if you want to see how the inside looks for reference. Cheers

I have a micheal kors smart watch and both inner rings are coming off. I have got a quote from fossil and they are charging £53 to eeplace whole caseback. Im wondering if superglue would be enough.

Bummer - don’t know if you can buy the brand of super glue in the video but for what it’s worth mine is still holding.

Have you replaced the battery on these Carlyle watches yet? Mine goes from 15-20% to dead instantly every night. Its frustrating.

Not yet but mine is the same. I’ve been using my Zepp Z during the week because my Fossil doesn’t make it thru a whole day now.

My middle ring fell off, can i just do the same thing or do i need to position the ring a certain way?

@@rusicangaming5535 There is a through case back pin on the ring. From what I remember both pins lined up in the same on the inner printed circuit board pad. Is there a small hole you can see where the pin goes through?
