Yes, if the spidey senses kick in, it just may be that your unconscious mind has assessed all the risks and the survival instinct is just guiding you on the best way to handle the situation. I believe in it - had that feeling once when driving. Was in the inside lane (in Australia) coming over a bridge that I knew changes the number of lanes for traffic in the morning going into the city. No barriers, only arrows. Something told me to change into the left lane quickly which I did. As soon as I changed lanes a car sped up and changed lanes in the other direction in my previous lane. Then realised what they'd done and went back into the correct lane. Definitely would have been a head-on collision for me and lucky there was a break between me and the cars behind as well as they could have been hit.

When you said you got to your original destination and it didn't feel right so you turned around and left, that reminded me of a something that happened many years ago when my husband and I and our two small children went camping. We went to this one site and we had just got there my husband had been unloading the stuff from our car, and two guys approached us and they acted very friendly and they said that maybe they could talk to us again later that night. And I don't know, but after they left I told my husband something does not feel right and I think we need to leave .Course he wasn't happy with that idea because he has spent all that time unloading everything, but I talked him into it. So we left. Two days later in the newspaper, there was a story of a woman who had gone to that same site we were at the campsite, ran into the same two guys, she was drinking beer with them and they ended up killing her. So it's always good to go with your gut instinct.

Luke👍👍🏕 I found this episode refreshing in that there were no set up, tear down, pack up or common camp chores filmed. It got right into the meat n' taters of the adventure which in this case was trying to stay warm. Great video as always, no complaints. See ya next time. Enjoy!

What an epic adventure! Loved it and the trail cam shots added much to the video enjoyment. I'm smiling as I sit in the warmth of my van and looking out on the bay. It's overcast, low 50's and a very chilly breeze coming off of the Pacific. You're cold and the three large fishermen in a small outboard 100 yards off shore look cold; and no luck for two hours or so. One of them is not wearing a PFD...better not let the Coast Guard or Harbor Police catch them. As I approach age 75 I find comfort is my mission. Having been a backpacker/explorer though for 60 some years I love watching your channel to remember the joy I experienced. Thank you, Luke!

Evac all "knowns" to established facilities to reconvene. 4. Notify public of protocol via recorded messages through all PBS. 5. Assess probabilities of casualties and destruction. 6. That’s smart to listen to your gut, when something doesn’t feel right. Many have ignored that feeling and paid a price for it later.

As for the StoveHut tent, I pre-ordered mine right when the drama came about. After seeing that they acknowledged there were still issues, and that they were redesigning the tent before fulfilling orders, I'm still going to give it a try given the alterations they are claiming to make. I like the concept of the tent, and I really want it to work. This of course means an extended wait, but first chance I get, I'll test it out once I get it, and I'll go from there.

Always have to have a plan “B”. The tent and stove worked great. Sometimes you just need to set in the tent, stay warm, and get some much needed rest. Thanks for sharing this frosty adventure.

Great video even if it was inside most of the time. Part of winter is hunkering down.
This is the type of camping I hope to do this coming winter. This last winter I did hammock camping down to the high teens. Quite awesome staying warm in a cocoon of under and over quilts. However it’s the time by the fire that is rough. So trying a hot tent seems to be the ideas thing for my next winter adventure.

I've had gut feelings like that before while traveling and its actually saved me a few times.
I was in a particular location and I took a different route just because something felt off. When I passed the area that I avoided from a distance I could see a group of guys waiting to ambush me. We made eye contact. I proceeded to force march myself out of the area. They didn't follow me so they were most likely going to rob me and needed to have the jump on me. Authorities didn't find them, didn't really believe me ether.

I’m 60 and I’ve learned much in life but the biggest thing I’ve learned is to trust my instincts and feelings. When I was young I didn’t and just about every time I ended up worse off. The feelings are there for a reason. Your subconscious telling you you are on the wrong course. Listen

Hi Luke. Love your channel. I'm in my mid 60's and I still remember the old government fallout shelters that were stocked with cans of water, biscuits, and cans of peanut butter. They slowly disappeared and the new instructions were to just bend over and kiss your () goodbye. lol

Always enjoy your videos. Love watching you review things with some actual use and abuse, rather than most people's out of the box and tried it once.
Just curious, why didn't you cook dinner over the wood stove? Not enough heat regulation.
Looking forward to the Teton rain/leak review. Really looks like they make a quality tent for the price.

Well, for one, anything within range of an EMP blast of a nuclear weapon is also in the... you know... blast range of the nuclear weapon. If it doesn't kill you, your stuff will function.
That being said, a hand-crank radio will work even when hit with an EMP while it is powered down.
