I found myself watching this in 2020...been watching your stuff for years Mr. Herbert. This particular video represents a whole bunch of things that I just love, all in one spot. Thanks for making the world a better place
That's a nice little theater. Thanks for show it Dave. I use to work at a theater from '86 - '91. it was built in 1923 and it is still running today. I really enjoyed working there.
I AM VERY HAPPY TO SEE THE BEAUTIFUL 1919 CINEMA THEATER WITH RCA PHOTO PHONE 35 MM PROJECTION SYSTEM, I WAS SERVICING THOSE GREAT 35 MM PROJECTORS WHEN I WAS YOUNG, SO MANY MEMORIES. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UP LOADING YOU TUBE
That was really really neat. Most of the time my girlfriend doesn't really watch your videos(not into the RC stuff) but this time she was really interested! Really really cool! Never knew so much work went into running those projectors! WOW! Again, thanks for sharing!!
Helicopters, advertising........ Helicopter advertising, sounds good to me lol.... Great video Dave, brings back some good old memories working in the theater:) 5/5
That was fantastic Dave! I really learned a lot here. I had no idea those projector systems were so complicated. I couldn't believe how long those film rolls were too. 10,000 feet?? Crazy. Thanks for the insight.
This was great Dave, I remember going to movies in similar theaters when i was a kid, unfortunately most all of them are gone and have been replaced with mega theaters. It`s crazy how those film go through so much, it`s just a matter of time until all is digital and this is lost too. Thank you very much for sharing :-)
As much as I enjoy Dave's radio control videos, he has this uncanny ability to post videos that aren't RC related, and yet I'm absolutely glued to them as well. As a kid I made it a point to bug any older person about how things used to be done, because after the novelty of all this digital stuff wears off you realize obsolete technology can in some ways be superior especially if you value reliability. Do you think your Blu-Ray player will still entertain you 60 years from now? -Mitch
its the torque. on the tandem heli the blades go in different directions and cancel each other. in "normal helis" the tail rotor pushes the end so it doesnt spin
Thanks for that video .its nice to see that places like this still exist,In this fast paced world we live in.Its nice to slow down and take life at a slower pace and for a while and forget your woes {*_"}....
Where I live we had a couple of theaters in town, one in particular was the majestic, an old art deco theater with a balcony and side boxes, it was spectacular, back then they not only showed movies but a lot of theaters also featured vaudeville acts, that's why there was an orchestra pit in front of the stage as this guy mentioned but didn't elaborate on, so for your money you really got a lot of entertainment because there was no television yet, sadly the demise of the majestic came as with all or most old theaters, it started showing x rated movies and then closed for good, now it is a black church, they call it a cathedral, i was only about ten or eleven when I saw my last movie there before it started showing x movies that was about 1971 maybe, very sad then some like this one were butchered into two screen theaters to make more money but it didn't work.
