I've NEVER heard an arrangement of Lully Lulla that gets it like this one does....oh God it's heartrending, and that's the whole point. It's a lament. Bravo to the composer.
First heard this piece at my local church’s carol service the other day after having not stepped foot there in six years. Suffice it to say my eyes were wet before the first reading.

So truly beautiful. I also love the patience they choose to apply in the tempo of this version. Some versions are a little too rushed for my liking, and whilst they are beautiful, this approach works best. It brings out the best in a stunning composition.
One of the best a-capella performances I've ever heard. So clear, so precise, so balanced and nicely intoned. An on top: a beautiful video in a beautiful scenery. Bravo!

Listening to your harmonies blending is medicine to the soul. I could feel the vibrations in your voices curing me. Such a divine and peaceful interpretation. Massive well done! ❤
When listening this beautiful song, all my thoughts and prayers go to young children wounded or killed under the bombs in Ukraine... Please God, bring them peace
Breathtaking. And breathtaking that that G sharp (??) emerges so beautifully out of the whole rather than showboating over the top. Fab as ever Ms Cockerham.

Yes, as it was song for The Holy Innocence of Bethlehem, in today's society it can be sung as a lullaby for all the children killed by abortion.

You just hit the point, Fruity. In german there's the word 'makenlos', what in truth means exactly what you said: Not corrupted by the unnecessary. I am with you.
I agree to an extent but at the same time vibrato is the natural oscillation of the throat, so singing in straight tone can sometimes be unhealthy
