    I often take 1000mg paracetamol when I have a pain and it works pretty well.

    Naproxen is the safest NSAID in patients with CVD risk. Surprised you did not mention this.

    Paracetamol doesn't work at all; _even_ when given intravenously. I've had several nurses tell me that it's just as good as morphine. Are they having a laugh!??

      I'm not sure how you could think that it doesn't work at all. If billions of doses are taken every year, it's obviously working for a huge amount of people and I highly doubt that the majority of that is from the placebo effect, if that is what you're saying. As for being as effective as morphine, no, but it can be used intravenously to treat severe pain. Perhaps you're genetically resistant to its effects?

      @@blackbird_actual Quite possibly, but there's plenty of other people in hospital and my everyday life that say it has absolutely no effect, other than slightly lowering their temperature.
