I have visited several friends/family members through out Texas. I love Texas, so much I'm relocating there once I retire in a year. Texas is affordable, family state. You should visit different cities to get a feel for what your looking for. I love San Antonio, Austin, I like El Paso (slower city/military city). No snow is the best part (for me at least).

Chesalon Turner I’m not sure because I don’t know many neighborhoods here. I just went on Apartments.com and looked at what I wanted. I drove to SA and then looked around to see if I liked the area. I stumbled upon mine due to the location.
Crystalcorado it depends what you consider high, compared to other cities... not at all. That’s why I love Texas. Also, this was the cheapest apartment out of all the other ones from the other tours.
