I have a crack in the front panel over the window. Discovered yesterday that rain poured in. Tried an emergency fix by putting butyl on it (which created a mess 😢). Ended up having to put a tarp over the whole caravan. I need something to hold me over this summer. Any suggestions?
I've some stress cracks on roof , would it be better to fiberglass them ,just do the full area ? Because their is 2 big cracks and about 8 little ones starting , Or do them all like this ?
I would drill the ends of each one then upto you on what you feel is best. They do a large roof strap tape which may cover the small ones. The staples will normally add a good strength and fiberglass would be an added bonus.
The caravan is 16 years old so will have faded from the new colour. I bought a white touch up pen (for kitchen doors etc) and tried it on a few chips on my last caravan and it was no where near the same white as the 3 year old caravan Re paint colour ...the plastic comes preformed in white plastic formed in a mould so its not "painted" as the colour is added to plastic then formed into tiny balls then moulded.. good idea taking a locker door to match the colour but some locker doors fade at different rates compared to panel fading especially if not on the same side (so subjected to more/less sunlight) so make sure the locker door is the same faded shade as the panel being repaired Looking forward to seeing the next part of the video to see how good the finished repair looks. BTW plastic staples are often used in the car repair industry eg to repair split/cracked plastic car bumpers... i saw one bumper split virtually in half and rhe replacement was back ordered with no ETA which was repaired using plastic staples with a lifetime guarantee on the repair for as long as the owner owned the car Great vid BTW 👍
Hi Mark My Coachman has cracks from the front gutter above the window down to the seal.. would this type repair still work and also do you have the link for the materials please?
Mark you make it so easy excellent job
Probably not perfect, but acceptable on the older caravans and definitely something you can have a go at yourself depending on the age of the caravan.
Loving the repair videos mark very helpful if anyone every had the same sort of damage
Thanks 👍
Great repair video. Thanks Mark
Thanks 👍
brilliant video Mark, I'm sure I've seen people twist the staples slightly when putting them in
Thats a good idea, if we do another I will try that, I hadn't seen them do that 👍
love the repair vids Mark

@@thecaravanplace Thank you
I have the same caravan 2005 model what spray paint did you use for white finish?
If you ebay caravan spray paint, the guy will tell you if you message him
What spray for showr tray please so many on the market?
Innotec spray seal, but needs a spray gun to apply.
@thecaravanplace okay thanks 😊
Do caravans have individual paint codes?
think a lot of manufacturers use fiat white but a proper scan match would be better
Manufacturers have records of which paint is used on any given model or year.
Yes and each one is different, normally take a locker door off and take to a shop that mixes the paint and they will match the colour.

Hopefully Monday.
