- A SODA IN A BAR is an action machinima, inspired from John Wick movies, in which Mei is a fixer who was called to recover a briefcase full of comprising infos. But ignores she'll have to deal with her father's murderer. She'll have to complete her contract aswell as taking care of her own issues.

After seeing the analysis stream and reading your description, the on-screen captions like John Wick, also kinda reminded me of the Max Payne 3 cutscenes.
It's cool to see you are able to get people to help out with voice acting. Even though I used all AI voices on my entry, getting good results either way takes quite a bit of effort.
This turned out fantastic! Thank you so much for letting me be apart of the project, it was a joy to do!

No doubt my favorite entry this year, hoping this one wins.
The voice actors did an amazing job bringing the characters to life, especially Mei's. I thought the choreography for the fight scenes were done really well, which honestly surprised me, because usually modded fight anims I've seen are always either way too fast or just too unrealistic and the ones you showed off were absolutely perfect. I'd love to know what mod they're from.
I think the only nitpicks I have with the video is I wasn't sure if this was a continuation of another video of yours because I remember Whisk showed up in Under Fire in your previous machinimay entry, so when she appeared it kind of threw me off. That and the history between Mei and Luarent also felt a little rushed and it just felt like an exposition dump. The other nitpick I had was also just how easily she was "brought back" by Mei, with the close up of Whisk's glove I was expecting Mei was going to somehow disable it by removing it off Whisk or somehow destroying it but she was able to snap her out of the mind control.
Besides that, I think this is one of the better entries, I loved it. ❤
Hey, thanks a lot. I'm happy to knoww that you liked it ! To answer you about all those points :
- I prefer use voice actors more that AI because it makes it way better, and less a discussion between 2 robots, also, in France, there's the #touchepasàmaVF which is a movement created by famous french VA's who can't stand about their job getting replaced by AI.
- Fights animation came from this discord server : discord.gg/tCgdBcrs. The cool thing is most of them a kinda realistic and not too fast. And if it's too fast, I just have to slow time so it looks realistic.
- No, the video is not a continuation of another video. I understand it might be confusing since there's Whisk appearing again, but there's a specific reason for that : In roleplay community, I play a guy called Evan Inkling (the one with red and black hair in "Under Fire"). He's a Battailon Chief for Los Angeles Fire Departement but have it's own independant cinema compagny. In that same server, Whisk is suppose to be is girlfriend and one of her actress. It's kinda hard to understand, but what i mean is those characters appears in those machinimas like real actors appears in differents movies (Keannu Reeves appearing in John Wick movies aswell as in Matrix, Shenan Moore appearing in Criminal Minds aswell as in SWAT etc...).
- Speaking of Whisk, the "glove" is actually a robotic arm since Mei and Whisk are both "Cyber-girls". There was suppose to be a flashback scene in which Mei and her father suffer from a car explosion, before we can see Laurent kills Mei's father and cut her arm off, and some additionals lines in which Mei tells that Laurent had to save her if he didn't wanted to be killed aswell, but I didn't add them because of the 15 minutes time limit. Still about that arm, initially, Mei had to convert Whisk by holding her arm, but I didn't find a suitable animation so I found an easier way.
