Zhou Shen is a master at what he does. Its his natural voice which didn't change with puberty. He is loved by millions world wide. His ability is profound.

It's an official clip from the TV show Supervocal, and it's normal for TV shows to edit and adjust things before broadcast, even if it's not to the betterment of the performance. Just normal industry rules and has nothing to do with Zhou Shen's ability.

I watched other vocal coach react on ZhouShen, some talked more about the auto tune and apparently its been possible to do it live in real time. Although because this is a show and not a love broadcast reality show, it's super common that it goes through edit, and it smooths out everything that makes it sound human and that what she meant. It snot about zhoushen not singing accurately and require auto tune. To people who really picks up on those auto tune, to them it sounds very unnatural, even when correcting an off pitch. Also its perfectly normal that a live performance is not entirely flawless, if anything that what makes people like live performance.

The EE part that you mentioned is so spot on. That’s what’s so hard about singing in Chinese because a lot of words should be enunciated with a clear sharp EE to be heard correctly, and that’s where people need training using nasal resonance in balance.
