The gimmick of trevenant is that all his first moves hurt himself to try to get the most out of his second skills
Curse deals damage to tree itself and wood hammer has a recoil so that's that

Trevenant was still good before the buffs.
Worst defender is still greedent, by worst doesn't mean its bad. Greedent is also good.
Hammer leech is still the best build for trev as a defender. Curse split is not a defender build, it’s an alrounder build. It can be a decent toplane build but it’s only on the better side of average compared to other toplaners. The defender build however is unmatched in displacement and cc chaining making it one of the best defenders in the game, although in competition with crustle

I used to be a Wood Hammer Horn Leech believer but since the buffs I've really enjoyed this build. It directly counters the "point and click" playstyle a lot of people have rn. Mewtwo, Miraidon, Glaceon, Dragapult, none of these characters stop clicking A to realize they're shredding their own health.

I've played this build a lot this season. Frequently getting 90k+ damage and MVP. RIP Trev in the next patch.
Only issue is it's not that fun since you just walk after you opponent all game

M2y is more fun than this thing cuz atleast it feels marvelous how fast it can basic attack and secure kills unlike tree who just sticks onto you like a parasite.
Is funny to see how your enemies kill themselves while hitting a tree, that's it

I love facing Curse Split Trevenant as Tsareena. They always think they can win, just cause I'm melee, but breaking the Pain Split bond is so easy, most of the time they end up doing nothing to me. You can also tell a lot of the Curse Split Trevenant players pick that specific moveset cause they don't want to think, so they just mindlessly charge at the enemy, and die before they are able to do anything.
That's why I prefer leech over pain split, it just perma-stun the enemies to their deaths lol

Yes lol cuz your only option against a pain split Trev is to run away and not attack it. Doesn't seem very balanced. Even the Hoopa knew to run away at FULL HEALTH when Trev showed up.

idk why people are so confused when they see a hoopa trick i mean it's a really fun build this is what im playing every time sometimes i play hyperspace but when i play it my teamates avoid it even if their are low hp so it makes me play more trick than hyperspace
Just played a comfey & trevenant duo queue and the comfey essentially turned the Tree into a raid boss.
Now that ive seen the full vid, I think the most amazing thing is not just how effectively ypu weave in and out throughout the match, but how they didnt even K.O. you once. Truly excellent defender gameplay.
Honestly this is how rocky helmet should have operated if pain split is that good.
I love curse since I used it first when trevevant was released. After seeing so many players using wood hammer I stopped playing curse
Back then curse was the stronger move. Wood hammer only became better after the massive buffs it got. I used to play curse + horn leech all the time.

The WH buff was really appreciated, it was impossible to run back at the beginning. But can’t say no to the oppressive curse & now even buffed PS dammn just dayummmm
@@strongerthankakarot2744Pain split was so bad before the buff. The max reflect damage at less that 30% hp was like 7%. For context the minimum reflect after the buff is like 15% and the max post buff is 30%
Idk what it is but I have the same problem you have where no matter which lane I choose, the entire enemy team always comes to my lane, and not just for the objective.

I've played hoops quite a bit and it gives you nothing if that happens

I truly think they buffed this Pokémon to counter Miraidon’s insane constant damage. It felt like the only pokemon at the time that can walk forward and eat the attack because it’s reflecting it back to Miraidon.
No matter what build you use as trev it is always gonna be the sabeleye of defenders (annoying)
Players still dont understand that when Trev uses pain split, you RUN AWAY. They keep attacking
Pain split is just a far superior crustle's unite on no cooldown.
You dont just reflect your damage taken but also receive less damage and above all also heal yourself. You just can't kill pain split tree in a 1v1. I remember pointing this out on the first day of the buffs but the others started yapping that you lot got a problem with everything lol.
I remember when tree first was playable, the best build was Curse/Horn Leech.

I'm confused. So when fighting against a pain split Trev is your only option to run away? Because fighting it gets you killed. It doesn't seem like there's much counter play against it. Fighting seems like a 150% chance of dying.
You need mages who can kite tree otherwise don't engage

It's hilarious that the counter to pain split Trev is just simply walking away and coming back, but it's not like Glaceon and Cinderace mains have any thoughts in their brain except spamming A.
Horn Leech has better synergy with Curse resets. I get triple 100k games with Horn Leech frequently, but i can never do it with Pain Split

Pain split in main games actually reduces your hp and increases enemy hp if they are very low than you, but in this game it still keeps reducing your enemy hp, it's so dumb. But honestly, glacion deserved it.

That's the role of a good defender, to endure. The more time they spend on your lane, the less time they spend accumulating valuable farm.

My trevenant is #10 in the world, horn leech is still better because curse gives a big cool down boost.
Why the faq my defenders get killed easily? Although I use the same items and emblem builds over 250+ hp as suggested

We need more defenders in unite to counter attackers. What about heatran guys? Magma storm can just trap your opponents
Heatran is more of an all rounder stat wise cuz it does quite a lotta damage. If it were to be a defender, it'd be something like blastoise. Ting-lu would make for a great defender instead

I think Resonant Is good instead of focus!
When trev uses its ult it gets more healing, so if focus procs while your ult buffs are active you heal more from it

This game is just the best in the worst,
1.the match making is shit
2.tdy I had a (leftover, exp. Share, attack weight)gardevoir, who died staking the entire match
3.my teams first three pick is cinderace, greninja, and owl
4.other attackers too
5.them some Speedster mains ping defender needed!, like they are gona carry the game
5.even if I pick defender or support still lose games
6.and this mmr thing just makes match making worse
7.the eve evolutions are shit, mainly solar blade leafeon
8.the game is not balanced
9.every three weeks there is a new god trier Pokemon

11.master ranks are easy to reach and even new players with less than 10 unite licenses are coming as my teammates

this is totally unfair like there are defenders like snorlax who lacks in every department be it CC, sustain, offense(if going for tank build)
while trevenant can just run over the entire enemy team with little to no sacrifice
