I remember watching a documentary years ago , about a guy from National geographic or Discovery that went on in asia c and trained With an old grand master on pekiti tirsia , and Hi specifically said that they don’t punch in that syatem , but they rather use their open hand .
Maybe it was tv show Kill Arman, I watched it on Odyssey Channel in Spain. He learned Cambodia Bokator too, and main martial arts around the world. Its a show from Finland TV.

A prime example of the d effectiveness of modern training in the empty-handed section in Pekiti Tirzija. Boxing a classic boxer by boxing rules is the height of folly. It is knowingly hopeless for obvious reasons to all normal people, with the exception of the Pekiti Tirsia clowns. It is the result of them moving away from the Old Kali training method and not coming up with a training methodology, in this section, to full-fledged sparring using the traumatic techniques of Old Kali. All this nonsense Wihongi is demonstrating here will never work by definition...... the rules determine the manner of fighting..... it is stupid to fight a boxer, Kick boxer, Thai boxer, by their rules. So it's all a useless circus.
