Excellent video, Randy. Jam-packed with good info, and don't mind the length at all. You've intrigued me with this one, as the Henson ++ is my daily driver. I may have to consider moving to the Winning. Keep 'em coming, my friend! Have a great week. ~Dave
Thanks so much for watching! My personal opinion is the Winning razor out performs the Henson. The feeling of the shave is similar, but the Winning has a little more blade feel, but not much. The price of the Winning for a stainless razor is really a great value. Thanks again!!
I bought my original winning razor because I found my Henson medium a bit to light both of these razors have very little blade exposure but the Kai blades are slightly wider than a normal de blade these give me a little more blade exposure which improves the shave with both of these razors try the Kai blade you’ll see what I mean
I always said the Hensons were great razors for those just starting to shave with a DE razor. But, for me once a person passes that point they're not the greatest in my opinion. The Winning is similar, but has much more feel and I think it is a lot more efficient. Thanks for your comment!!
Hallo Randy, Thank you very much for your new video and the presentation of the products. I wish you much success with your videos. best regards over the big water from germany Randy😊💈💈🪒
Hey Jenbs, thanks for watching and for the comment! I hope the review of the Winning razor will help others. That's my goal anway! Thanks again and happy shaves to you!
Thanks Neil for watching! You're getting a really nice razor and I am betting you really enjoy it! Thanks again for watching and be sure and let me know what you think of the Winning!! Happy shaves!
Great video Randy. I have the Merica in brass and the 921M and love them. I am thinking about getting the Winning when available again and am on the notification list. I think the Winning might shave smoother if it came in the stonewashed finished. I also have the Merica in the machine finish and it does drag a bit but the brass which is in bead blast finish shaves smooth. Have a great week. 👍💈
Thanks Bill for watching and thanks for the information on the bead blast and brass finishes! Yates definitely makes great products and the drag on my Winning is well worth putting up with. It is a very nice razor! Thanks again!
Great shave, Randy! Really hope B&M brings back Fern. I wasn't lucky enough to try it, but it sounds like my kind of scent. I'm also intrigued about Yates. They might have to be my first fore into stainless steel razors....we'll see. Have a good week 💈
Thanks for watching! The Reserve Fern soap and splash has a wonderful scent, I too hope that one day it returns. Also, you can trust me when I say you can't go wrong with any Yates razor!! Thanks again!
I got a notification today that the Winning was back in stock. I immediately grabbed one. I already ordered a Custom build your own from Yates and have been patiently waiting on that one. I look forward to the Winning.
Thanks for watching! Compared to other stainless razors it's price is excellent, but I understand that it's not in everyone's budget. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thanks again for watching!
Great review thank you. I just used a .45 razor with a TIGER SS from Czech and had a fantastic shave. Also a BIC ASTOR (greece) gives Great shave with many different gaps. I would try these blades to improve the glide with your Winning. 😊
!st time watcher. I subscribed and look forward to more reviews. I am a huge fan of Henson. I have their Titanium Ti-22 Mild razor which is the only razor I do my head shaves with. It's more efficient than the AL-13 Mild. I like this Yates model and have signed up for a release text or email. I doubt their upcoming Titanium Winning Razor is worth twice the price of the Stainless steel but it's still $100 less than my Ti-22. Impressive pricing. I'll probably buy the Stainless steel model and send it to Matt at Razor Emporium so he can plate it in Rhodium. That will lessen the drag and make it a masterpiece. Cheers, Kevin
Great! Thanks for watching! I don't head shave, but I have heard from several guys who do that the Henson is an awesome head shaver. To me the Winning is very similar to the Henson except for the weight and it is a lot heavier due to the difference in materials. There's one thing for sure, there is plenty out there to choose from these days. Thanks again for watching and happy Henson shaves to you!!
Hi Randy excellent review! I have the Winning razor as well and found that he has that resistance, I call it drag. You and I share the same thoughts on the razor. I felt the balance is excellent, grip and handle length is perfect and it is efficient. I reached out to share my thoughts to Jake but he didn’t respond to my thoughts. I suggested adding those vertical lines to the guard (bottom plate) like the fatboy has, that might fix the drag of the razor? But I’m not a technical person as well.
@@Shaverboy516 Thanks so much for watching! It's undeniable that the razor has that "drag" you speak of. The question is whether or not that is worth putting up with. I personally think it is because I think the razor's positive features outweigh that inconvenience. I don't know if it could have been avoided during the design, but I doubt it because I think it would have been if it could. It is still a very good value and provides a great shave! Thanks again for watching and happy shaves to you!
@@randyshaves7956The vertical lines on the top cap were added on this revised design to reduce the suction, I think what other users call suction may actually be the drag that we feel, I would entertain putting those lines on the guard too, just like the fatboy has, those are there for a reason. This razor is almost a perfect one, maybe Jake will try my suggestion.
@@Shaverboy516 Yes, that's what I meant in the video when I said the suction feeling is one thing people do not like about the Henson, so the lines were placed in the top cap of the Winning to alleviate that problem. However, the "drag" is still present. That leads me to believe maybe it isn't a suction at all and has to do with the very small amount of blade that protrudes from the razor. I have used other razors with thatsmall amout of blade showing and they also present a dragging issue. The TRC aluminum razor has drag also and is similarly designed. However, that is a small price to pay for such a good razor as the Winning, especially at the price point for a stainless razor.
Hi Randy, I really need to get a hold of something from Yates. They are located in my state, Pennsylvania, so I just have to support them! As far as the soap goes, truly one of my favorite scents. Thanks for such a great video and have a fantastic week! Best regards, Glenn
Thanks Glenn! I think you would love the Yates 921, or the Merica razor either one. The Winning is one some are going to like and some aren't, but regardless of whether someone likes it or not it is a great well made razor. To me the 921M razor is just unbeatable. Thanks again!
The winning razor, at it's price point, is an excellent choice. Thanks for your review.
Thanks Richard for watching! Yes, the WInning is a great razor with a great price! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and happy shaves to you!!
Very thorough review. Thank you so much Randy. I currently have the 921 h and EH and absolutely love it
Thanks Louis for watching and I am glad you enjoyed the review. I was as honest as I could possibly be. Thanks again, have a great week!

Thank You, I was as honest as I could be. It's a good razor!
I have the original winning razor which I hand polished to a mirror finish I use Kai blades in it and get a great two pass shave with it
I never used the original, but I bet it was great! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I look forward to the release of the Winning
It's well worth the investment! Thanks Jim!

Hey! I really wanna buy these, but they’re all sold out. Any reason you’d wanna sell them? I’m trying to make them my go to for life! Thanks 🙏
Sorry, but I have already sold mine, I didn't care for it. Thanks for watching though!
