Hey TechaBrothersIT great videos. You said the analysis services should be installed afterwards but the windows documentation said to add the feature upon initial installation. As a matter of fact I am unable to add features such as SSAS after the fact.
You shouldn’t add SSAS in existing cluster installation, AS and RS are not cluster aware - install as new installation.
Really great work guys! please excuse my ignorance, but in point "1", you said "cluster should already be installed and online", do you mean sql cluster or windows cluster and is there a step/video where that was done and I'm missing it. Thanks again.
+Harjeet Lozano Thanks for kind words. You are right, windows clusters has to be setup before we install SQL Server in cluster mode.
Thanks for the great information, I see this process let you setup a brand new database? what if I have an existing stand alone database already and I want to use it to setup the new SQL failover cluster?
Nope, you have to install sql server in cluster mode, can’t convert standard installation into cluster if that’s what you are asking. However you can use the node to be a part of new failover cluster installation.
I got to deploy an SQL cluster in WS2012R2 environment, which I have to clusterize too. How much days should I say it will take? 2 counting troubleshooting validation?

the IP address added under cluster network configuration the ending with .40 is for the other node which is the passive node
Do I Need to Cluster MSDTC after SQL installation?
With Windows 2008 Failover cluster and later you do not need to cluster MSDTC to utilize the functionality of the MSDTC service. This is because MSDTC was re-designed in Windows 2008 and unlike Windows 2003 if Windows Failover Cluster was installed you had to cluster MSDTC. This is no longer the case when using Windows 2008, since by default MSDTC service is running locally, even with Failover Clustering installed.
That is correct - you don't need MSDTC as local DTC services will be used going forward, if someone wants to install, it's there for him/her.
