What if the original page has news posts and pages filed in a folder. How can we create an English version of this entire folder to be translated? When I set the language translation it seems to be for one page at a time
Thanks for the info! I am assuming that not only the language on the French page can be updated but any of the web parts on that page as well? This won't disturb the original English page because it's its own page, correct? Would you recommend this over creating a separate site for a different language-speaking office within an organization?

And if you change the page to french version, why the nav doesn't change to french (Home, etc...) and doest just the content?
Navigation is at the site level, not page level, hence not translated

You need to do so manually, one page a time

That's correct. Pages are separate/unique in terms of web parts and layout

You should have a page created that you can then translate. Hard for me to tell you why it is not created in your case without seeing the setup.
