6:06 The geese read the continental grip as a sign to start migrating. Great video, thanks for passing on solid tennis tips

Good video, but I think it applies to more advanced rec players (and up) with longer strokes. Especially with today’s light racquets, when I play lower level players I actually find it harder to read their shots because their swings are shorter and wristy / slappy. This is especially true for me in mixed doubles where it seems like a lot of ladies use 280 to 290g racquets and mostly play with their forearms and wrists. The shots may not be great, but I can’t read them.

This! One guy I played against in doubles had no real form but just armed everything and hit with slice! Had no idea what he was doing!!!😂

Excellent video as always👍. My goal is to watch the opponent more for clues about their next shot but I still don’t do it much!!Can I practice this skill by watching people play and watch them instead of the ball?

The Continental grip is probably my most implemented grip. My favorite thing to do is fake drop shot and chip the ball with a little pace to mid court when the opponent starts his run forward😂

Do you mean you really don't like it or Do you mean you like hitting half volleys because I am starting to like those low shoelace volleys or half volleys that Sampras used to hit. Maybe I'm getting bored of hitting regular volleys shoulder height. @@coachhannah2403

Not only pros anticipate well. My clubmates (and other medium to high level players) do the same, no matter how much I try to disguise my shots.
But I don't know if you can learn to anticipate from scratch. I rather think that it takes a couple of thousands of rallyes until it works.

    • @MeikeBabelTennis

It certainly takes experience to read the plays

@@MeikeBabelTennis Yeah, seen that last season. My opponent was a late beginner, but beautifully set up, with nice swings and good footwork. Good job from his coach.
But he stood all the way back to the fence when returning, despite my serve being mediocre at best. He saw it too late, whereas I like to take serves on the rise (strange habit, I know).

what's your string setup on your vcore? I play with the same racket in high altitude and I'm struggling with having a tight enough string set up for control in altitude vs arm comfort

We’re in Gijon, but I’m planning adult camps for later this year closer to Barcelona. The weather in Asturias is too unstable for tennis. Would you like me to put you on my newsletter list? Email me at meike@meikebabel.com and that way you stay updated
