Great, high usage player who dominated guys 2-3 years younger in the college game, came out NBA ready, but will settle into his role as a bench contributor. Decent pick for a win-now team who needs rotational help right away, but again, no reason for a young team to waste a pick on that player.

Feel similarly about Castle - guys with offensive potential (actual potential not Mr. Black potential) who are coming in as big, plus defenders have to be top 5-10 especially in a class with so many unimpressive players. Castle especially - I see a lot of SGA at his ceiling but my friend who just finished grad school at UConn sees him closer to Butler as a ceiling. A 6'6 SF/PG with IQ, defense, handles, and a (at the very least) moldable shot? Sign me up. Castle is at 1 on my big board and if I was Atlanta, I would trade Young to SA for 4, 7, and contracts and rebuild around Castle at 1 and whoever they take 4 and 7 to fit next to Johnson and Okongwu.
Nikola Topic for the Spurs seems like a no-brainder at #4. But they may be tempted to take Zaccharie Risacher. Sorry, no way that the Spurs take Tyler Smith at #8. This makes absolutely no sense. He is a defensive deficit. Spurs favor defense.

I absolutely hate Reed Sheppard to Charlotte. Not the player, just the fit. If Castle is there, its not even a question. Buzelis too fits the franchise better . My ideal Charlotte has Lamelo and Brandon in the back court, so I'd take a 3 like Risacher or Buzelis or Holland or Castle for the defensive upside as combo guards/wings
Anyone who thinks Edey has any deficiencies that outweigh him being a 7'5" player who's actually good at basketball and has good mobility for his size doesn't make sense to me. Yes, he's basically exclusively a drop coverage big, but a lot of bigs are like that. He has great stamina and will be able to play real minutes unlike Boban. I don't see how he isn't at worst a 15/10 guy, which is easily worth a late lottery pick in this draft. Edey negativity entirely revolves around not liking the archetype he represents, regardless of the fact that it still has a real niche in the modern NBA, and has nothing to do with the actual prospect, who has generational production to match his behemoth frame.

Sheppard fits better than dillingham for rockets. As an off ball player next to amen and Fred his elite shooting/gravity is too good. He is the best connecting piece imo his feel for the game is elite and he isn’t ball dominant. Defensively Fred and amen are elite on ball, Sheppard is elite off ball. Those three guards are who the rockets should keep, trade green and smith and get a real guy, prioritize whitmore and Eason, sengun emerges. That’s how they become a contender
