    • @uchihajoel3064
      @uchihajoel3064 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Vinny incorrect. There's a reason the belt gets passed around often and there are so many people in the UFC roster. Compared to most things being a fighter is tougher. But there's a reason why there has always been only 1 Dana white. If it was easier than being a fighter that job would be given to the next best guy often.

    Chael, do these things you just talked about apply to Conor McGregor? Cause seems like he is allowed to do whatever he wants. UFC doesn't treat all of the fighters equally. Other fighters see it and get upset. What you said goes both ways. UFC has to treat their fighters equally and everything has to be standardized. Otherwise the whole thing falls apart.

    • @Alexander_Tronstad
      @Alexander_Tronstad 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chael's speech here is obviously bullshit. He tries to trick people into feeling like the fighters are having the easiest part of the job. Yeah, let the fight-promoters and the hard-working fans try to get to the top in an MMA-division. Go right ahead, get in that cage several times a year with someone who are there because they specialice in smashing your face. Easiest job in the world. lol
      Back in reality - the fighters who the promoters and whatnot base their living off of who finally get their foot in the door have at least smartened up enough to immediately try to negotiate what they are worth as long as their short window of opportunity presents itself so that they can make a living off of their years of blood sweat and tears before the window brutally shuts down - often before they know it shuts down.

    Couldn't agree with you more on how fighters should be approaching every fight opportunity that they are offered with given that they have a contract and there are some who's complaining and pointing at someone else when they don't even make themselves accountable. Love the fact that you pointed out that "I have a contract to fight.. I'm in the fight business.. I'm looking for a fight.." and a lot of fighters don't seem to have this kind of mentality. Matthew Curry I didn’t see the episode but Chael seems triggered. The main points I got out of this were illogical. An MMA fighter working three days a year? Doesn’t exist. The champ going to the challengers territory? Imagine in the nfl where the team with the best regular season record must go on the road for the post season? My take is it sets an unwarranted precedent a champion MUST fly half way across the world to defend the title. Now, if she volunteered Rose’s badassery meter would go off the charts if she chose to go to the challengers home ground and defeat them. I normally agree with Chael but his emotions are trumping his reason. Most of his points were laughable.
      Someone said it above, Arial is arguably the best interviewer, not analysis and opinion. He is a huge fan though and I respect that.

    I'm sorry Chael, but you're wrong about Colby's situation. Listen to his interviews with Ariel and Luke Thomas, and you'll see what actually happened. And then be a man about it and call out Dana White for his blatant lies. How many times do fighters have to accommodate the promoter? Dude literally won an interim title and then went on to have a surgery that was long overdue, and he got stripped. Meanwhile Jon, a repeat offender, pops for Turinabol and the entire event gets moved from Vegas to California. Stop doing this diplomatic shit and call things as they are, otherwise you're just enabling sleazy moves by promoters and contributing to the downfall of UFC. You yourself fought so MMA could, one day, be recognized as a legitimate sport. Siding with promoters when they're clearly in the wrong, with the platform that you have, means you're undermining everything you've worked towards.

    • @MattsAwesomeStuff
      @MattsAwesomeStuff 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "You're wrong about Colby's situation" -- Did you listen to what Chael said? In the fight business it is implied that the offer being made is only good until a better offer comes up. Some of those things will be within your control, some of them will not be. It Brock Lesnar decides to fight on your card at the last minute, sorry, you're not the main event anymore. You may "deserve" the title shot and that has some weight to it, but legitimacy is only one part of a promoter's algorithm. If someone more interesting, more exciting, does a better job of promoting themselves and is only moderately deserving of it legitimacy-wise, and giving that guy the title shot becomes a better option to the promoter? Then they get the shot. Everyone should know this.

    • @SM-gz8di
      @SM-gz8di 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MattsAwesomeStuff Then Dana should have never brought in interim titles. They also should not have a ranking system if it's all about the better offer and not the hard work fighters put in to get them where they are. I'm sure Dana White can come out and say it's one or the other but he never will...
