Great video, I was wondering why didn't you stay in a canal marina nearby Reims or so, where you won't encounter any flooding risk. Seine is quite calm and controlled but still I saw some flooding events
Hi Fred, Thanks for watching and your kind comment. Yes the Seine is mostly a kitten, but can roar like a tiger at times. Our route could have taken us further east to Reims area but Paris for our friend was the goal as revealed in episode 14. We really enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of Port Ilon - what a find! Stay safe. JnS 🙂
Hello Igor, The fender board/passerelle has been an essential piece of kit! Yes we've used it to protect the hull in locks and along side concrete quays. Also used to comfortably get on/off the boat where grass banks slope to the waters edge, and when "stern-to" a concrete quay. Good question, thanks - hope this is helpful. JnS
Super! All makes sense now - didn't realise you went that far down river.
Hi Igor, Thanks for watching! It was further down river than we wanted - but what a find! Port Ilon is so beautiful.

Another great video
Hi Patrick, thanks for watching and for liking it! More likes and comments means more people get to see the adventure! 🙂
noticed you have a fender board (scaffold board?) on deck - have you found it useful for mooring inside the locks? Cheers.
