I love the giant tower tanks because I just imagine some Imperial designer, hyped up on spice and a lack of sleep, going to his boss with the plans saying "alright, so we all like Turbolaser towers BUT! What if they could move??"
I kind of like the general vibe for the Pentastar Alignment. Its a mix of outdated equipment and and vehicles meant for planetary garrison work,supplemented by more modern gear built by outer rim corps.

16:48 Black Sun did have a pretty decent space force, their stuff in Galaxies, their bulk cruiser in XWA, and of course what they had in Shadows of the Empire. But their biggest capital was just the 600 meter Bulk Cruiser. I suppose XTS made some freighters that may have been bigger but those were more container trains.
When you're talking on the scale of being able to compete with even the smallest of the actual factions that control territory and fleets, they don't really meet the baseline requirements for "decent force." ie, viability for an EaW faction where you don't have to make up literally all relevant aspects for them just to make them be present at all.
No, they're still a normal unit for the Empire and once you unlock them they're a regular production unit. The point is that they already full roles that these factions (aside from Zsinj) don't already have filled rather than giving people some sort of straight universal upgrade.
I mean unless they are fighting the protagonists stormtroopers are canonically elite troops and their stats reflect this. While they are not as good as clone troopers they do outclass most other infantry

@@CoreyLoses Yeah Inmeant decent for a gang with several cool light ships. Lots of decent bases but armed, durable and actually mobile? No not really

IIRC they're reductions in ship construction time. Its an imperial prison..forced labor is very much in fashion.
Pentastar Alignment has the coolest name. Zsinj (spelling?) has the coolest infantry.

We don't plan to put them in FotR. The Republic has way more than enough ship options with much stronger connections to the era.
