    I think its so interesting watching these. Its literally not the league i know. The complexity is astonishing to me.
    Watching these makes me realise, that when i play, and when LS/NEMESIS plays, its not the same game, at all.
    These players are autopilot doing things i wouldnt think about doing.
    Great video! Love the content!

  • @midkailol
    @midkailol 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like how deep and complex the league can be. you can simply press the keyboard and be good at it or use intelligence and knowledge to destroy your opponent, the two together would be the apex. Realizing that team play makes the match have a totally different environment than soloq, and knowing that the two types of lol coexist is insane. Well, I've experienced a bit of everything, playing soloq with the best meta characters, playing casually, teaming up in small leagues, but now all I know, all my will and time is being turned to one thing in this game, Maokai Mid. I'm in this saga, to enable and reach the maokai master mid to 4 months, and I'm realizing how it is possible to optimize several points of the strategy, hidden mechanics in the character, improving every day. Finally, I would like to say that I would like you to approach the topic of Off Meta, and that the best part of off meta is really that it is off meta.

    Jayce into sett is a pretty damn hard matchup. Sett Q into E can run you down and easily trade on you in melee range while his passive heals him to full. In this case sett getting 3 random kills made knights lane impossible.

    • @johnszandala3280
      @johnszandala3280 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @20:21 It does reach. I've done it before on someone in the brush to hold them from killing my fleeing jungler, and I've flashed the wall before and then thrown the E to stop their chase. The thin part of the wall reaches pretty easy but I think if they are in the brush you have to Angle the E (if you cast E sideways you get a little more range). It's very fucking hard tho and even tho I've hit it the few times I went for it I wouldn't say it's easy to replicate.

    At 15:40, he could be "going for the plate" not for the gold while ruining his tempo and base timing, but so that he could purposefully bait enemy jg/sup(&top as he saw rene on map b4 going for plate), since he knows his karma and kayn are near. He knows he wont die cuz he has flash and also has ult soon for the skirmish. Forcing fights like this to snowball leads and create opportunities (or chances for enemies to make a mistake: like the jayce getting hit by sett e and dying), instead of recalling, which is a good option as well, but would prevent these skirmishes, to snowball from, happening.

    10:40 what he's doing would only work if its frozen on his side, similar to top lane. He has it in his mind that he wants to deny jayce cs/xp, but he can't because of the position of the wave. BTW the study of thought is virtuistic, and governed by prudence, or the ability to self-reflect and dissect prejudices. It hinges on the ego/pride/humilty/etc. and is the most important virtue for human thought.

    18:00 he started channeling tp before he dropped herald...or rather it was at the same time. I don't think he had calculated herald. Would have been fine otherwise probably. I mean, imagine Kayn just backing off instead of dropping the herald first. Now Jayce gets to clear minion wave a lot more freely. Like, why wasn't Jayce able to finish off the caster creeps there? Would Sett have been able to bully him like that without the herald there? Unlikely, right?

    Extremely refreshing commentary. Enjoyed it a lot. I Played DOTA for 8 years and it's funny how MOBA fundamentals translate. A lot of the things you guys mention are considered standard knowledge in DOTA and the bare essentials in pro play. I remember watching my first LOL pro game with my friend who got me into LOL and pointing out a lot of mistakes, misreads, missed opportunities a. I found that league players have a very narrow view of how the game was played, which was quite the opposite from DOTA were thinking outside the box/abstractly is rewarded a lot in pro play.

    Question here: Do pros really need to play soloqueues? It'd be much more effecient for them to test things out in practice tool, custom games, and scrims, and there are so many bad habaits they can get from playing soloqueue. There might be the arguement of soloqueue keeping up their mechanics, but a coordinated team with a clear idea of what to do is definitely better than 5 mechnically gifted players playing 5 different versions of the same game.

    • @tudoan3654
      @tudoan3654 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What else are they gonna do after scrim if you suggest them not to play solo q ? Mechanics in this game for pros are mostly muscle memory and if they don't keep up the intensity they will lose all those mechanics real fast. Solo q for pros is similar to Gym for atheletes. Look at IG Ning, he slacked off for a split not grinding solo q hard and after that he could never find best form again and ended up getting replaced.

    • @robertyu1012
      @robertyu1012 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tudoan3654 It probably depends on how much they actually scrim. If they scrim everyday multiple games per day, then scrim alone would be enough as they can vod review. Maybe I worded myself wrong: pros shouldn't treat soloqueues the way normal high mmr players do. Like we saw in this game, it's a clash of 2 top 10 mid laners in the world, if not top 5, and it's safe to say both are capable of a MUCH higher level of play. Knight ran it down despite knowing perfectly well he's hard inting. To use the gym analogy, it's like switching to workouts that's not even half as intense as your normal routine, and still doing it half heartedly. In order to make soloqueue games productive, it requires an incredible amount of self-discipline that we almost never see from proplayers, and it's probably because they've just became part of the league culture: "losing games are not worth winning".
      As for mechanics being mostly muscle memory, I do agree, but the goal should be refining these muscle memories rather than simply repeating them. It then comes back to the topic of self-discipline because soloqueue games' quality are not high enough to force pros to refine their techniques: they can run it down all they want and still have a positive winrate by carrying the winning games.
      And what I'm suggesting is far from slacking off. I'm saying rather than waste time playing soloqueue, pros should spend the time to figure things out as a team. League is complex game, and the 5 players need to understand the game from a unified point of view. Everyone says "pros always know what they did wrong" but they don't. Teams almost never make use of lane prios, and because they don't use it, everyone is just playing ping pongs with the waves. I'm not informed about Ning's situation, but if he used the time he would've used for soloqueue to just fool around rather than improving at league, then yes he'll fall behind.

    I just want to know, if the enemy is blundering too why should you call the first mistake a blunder when nothing came out of it? Like that mid lane cs discussion about wave a becoming b then c then d. The opponent (Knight) is committing mistakes too so the end result is nothing. For me unless those deductions are put in to place and the other player doesn't know what to do then thats when you call it a mistake from the opponent because there is and end result which favors the other player.

      It doesn't matter to a pro whether they're 1500 LP challenger or hardstuck d1 due to trolls. It's about self improvement, and managing wave correcting ragardless of competition is what a pro should aim to do, rather than "oh he's trolling, I guess I can sit back and play with less thinking and more autopilot".
      In other words, end result doesn't mean anything. It's about playing well, not winning. Winning is what matters on stage.

      @@robertyu1012 What's the gauge in playing well when the bar is not being tested? It's like saying a top student in the class who has a grade of 99 is not enough. Like what? He is already there standing at the top what's the point of doing more? Especially when others are all under you? If anything those people that are under should be the ones to be blamed because they are doing the same shit but worse.
