Good Monday afternoon dear Jimmy, absolutely amazing Explorer type guitar, for the price and the equipment is amazing. I don't have a guitar of this type, only a Dean bass. It needs a different kind of stand than classic type electric guitars (Strat, SG, LP...), but that's just a small note for those interested, in case it won't hang on the wall. But if I look closely at the back of the guitar, that might not be necessary. Great piece, video including music as always magical. May it only make you happy, I look forward to more videos and I wish you a beautiful new week and all the best. I greet you warmly. Pavel CZ.👍👍👍🎸
Hi Pavel…thanks so very much for watching and your kind comments. So happy to hear you enjoyed the latest addition to the channel. In a model like this one, your typical “A” stand is not going to suffice…having a “hanging” type stand certainly helps…😎 As always, I truly appreciate your stopping in and wish you and yours a wonderful week as well! Much thanks my friend…🙏👍
I absolutely love the pickups on my FFTL John5, and the tones I get from that and my FF338 Lucille are insanely good. Having bought those 2, a Madcat, standard T, and the FFST SRV since January has my hands full concerning playing my guitars, but I must say that I like what I see and hear. Selling on Amazon is smart, and I hope they do more, but if they do a gold top FFSP, Junior, or a Nashville Tele, I might not be able to resist! Looking at Amazon and it says one day shipping, that is Amazing (I do have an Amazon Hub 15 miles from home, so that might be why). Cheers, Jimmy.
My order which is a twin to what Jimmy got arrived the next day. In fact, the reason I ordered the Blueberry Burst FFLX is exactly because of that reason, the Purple Burst wouldn't have arrived for 2 whole days. I'm a man child that simply cannot tolerate that kind of a long wait. I kind of screwed myself in the process because I went back the next day with the idea of getting the Purple Burst FFVX (Flying V) and they were all gone. I think the popularity of them saved me from myself as that would have been the 3rd guitar I had bought in less than 30 days. Talking w/my GF Janie, we realized that I had also bought 3 guitars the month before that when I snapped up different versions of guitars w/Midnight Galaxy Black finish, a Strat, a Tele, and a 338 which all play, and sound fantastic by the way. I've been eyeballing that Lucille with the Variac on it. I was given permission to get it a couple of months back, but I chose to get a Marshall 2x12 loaded with Celestions to go with my Marshall Origin 20....
My pleasure man…truly appreciate your stopping into the channel and sharing your thoughts. The John 5 is definitely killer…congrats on yours and all the others as well!! Keep pickin’ my friend and thanks again!! 🎸👍
Thanks for showinb the fretboard radius. I keep up with the FB group, but stopped browsing the GG site due to the ridiculous radius measurements on their guitars the last coup!e of years. Your purchase looks & sounds great.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Pretty sure all my Firefly’s have been delivered by UPS to my location. Even those that I bought via Amazon came UPS as I recall. Those that come from Guitars Garden ship via UPS….thanks again for stopping in and glad you enjoyed it!! 🎸👍
Hey Jimmy I like the looks of the guitar and I would really like to get the purple one but I have been in the hospital since Jan 2 and I don’t want to order it until I get home and that maybe May Or June if it’s there then I will. Missed a lot of your videos so I’m trying to catch up and keep my spirit high. Thanks
Hi Michael…So sorry to hear that man. Keep the spirits up and get well soon!! Your health is the most important factor and the guitar can always wait. Appreciate your stopping into the channel and catching up!! Hopefully it will bring you a smile or two… Keep your chin up and my best to you and yours….🙏🙏
Holy moly!!!! This is another one I would NOT have expected you to go for! The pickups on this one really do seem surprisingly bright, clear, and articulate, much like ones on the John 5 Ghost, or that white Kramer Baretta clone! I see they’ve added some “notches” to this one and the Flying V, maybe to avoid lawsuits from Gibson… I imagine this one would be prone to neck dive, given the unbalanced looking shape. The Flying V would be the BEST EVER for sitting down with, if you sit with it in a classical posture, rather than a cowboy posture. Nice to see that they have some stock on Amazon-I almost wonder if they’re trying to compete with Westcreek. Westcreek makes some pretty decent guitars for the price too, from what I hear.
Hi PG…this does sound very good….clean and articulated across the spectrum. I am sure they are keeping their eye on all the competition… (there’s a lot out there these days). Always appreciate your stopping in my friend…🎸👍
Hey man…thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yeah…I hear you on that! A all white/black version would be cool…even a yellow.. Keep your eyes peeled….🎸👍
Those pups pack a punch. The color is awesome. I've never owned an explorer or V and probably never will. Explorers to me are too much or too big like the Mustang. Other than that the finish and pup's are awesome. They sure are keeping you busy. Firefly is really killing it with all these new guitars. Thank you for another wonderful review Jimmy!
Hi Tim…My initial thoughts were kinda the same…big…bulky…but in the end, the Explorer is actually very comfortable and weighs less than your average LP…Thanks as always for stopping in Tim…always appreciate it my friend! 🎸👍
@@JimmyStewart1 Agreed. I thought it would be this monstrosity that would be just a pain in the butt to play. I was elated to find myself being proven wrong.
@@yanikem6655 Thanks so much. Glad to hear you enjoyed! Unfortunately yeah…perhaps at some point in the future…🤞 Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel…I know of a few folks over in Europe who have got their hands on some Firefly’s in the past using a shipping broker and a US address, but with taxes, import tariffs and such, it gets pretty expensive.
As an aside, guess what the #1 New Release for Solid Body Guitars on Amazon today might be? Yep, the Blueberry Burst FFLX, followed closely by the FFLG in Matte Green, with the Enya Nova Go (Funny, Nova means no go...) carbon fiber LP looking thing coming in at 3rd. If anyone is on the fence about getting one of these, I suggest that you get your order in. You will be pleased with the product.
@@JimmyStewart1 My FFLX has just arrived. Tuned it up and it’s ready to rock. Beautiful finish, not a flaw to be found. Sounds great through the Marshall Origin 20 w/Marshall 2x12 Celestion loaded speakers.
Hi JimmyJ…Thanks so much for watching man…Nice!! Congrats!! Hope you enjoy it. Right now…no case. I may order a Roadrunner soft case for it later on…just have it stand hanging for the time being. Did you get the blueberry burst or the purple? Regardless, enjoy and keep pickin’ my friend….🎸👍
Oh, and my honey burst Explorer from FF has zebra pups, and doesn't have the notch, so I guess technically they are not the same guitar. The honey burst is killer as well. I got a neighbor 2 doors down that treats my place like a Guitar Center, and he loves my honey burst Explorer. I even loaned it to him for a few days. His brother was amazed I loaned him such a cool guitar. He's going to have a harder time getting this one from me. Much like yourself I was amazed it wasn't this beast of a guitar, but a light, and comfortable one to play.
@@JimmyStewart1 We've shown him the door at 3am a couple of times. He's like 30 yr old. We are old folks man, we can't hang that long. I hope you copied that link before my comment got disappeared, it's a fun read.
Awesome! I have a Westcreek revenge same style. I wonder if these are made in the same factory as Fireflys the specs seem almost the same also the ads on Amazon almost have the same layout. Also being in Canada I've managed to get a few firefly ffsps which I think are great for the money !
Hi Moonmaster…thanks so much for watching and commenting. A few folks have asked the same type of question about the Westcreek models. I don’t have one, so really can’t compare the new, but just by the photos they appear similar, but with a few differences. As I have stated before, a number of guitar companies will contract at different manufacturers plants, so having different brands being made in the same factory is certainly not uncommon. Glad you were able to grab some SP’s. Congrats and enjoy them!! Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel and sharing! 🎸👍
@JimmyStewart1 yeah it's hard to say what goes on over there lol but the Westcreek is worth checking out! And Firefly I can see myself getting more even after the conversion and the duty it still comes in at a good price! Keep up the good work! 👍
What shocked me most was that no Skynyrd was played during this episode. That's almost against the law, yes, I called and checked to see. Looked at Janie, said "Hey, I can get the V too if you want". Visiting hrs at the hospital are from 9-5....
It was too early in the morning for Skynyrd…I had only had a single cup of tea when I started recording this review/demo…next time after a couple 🥃 JD’s at the proper time frame (2:00 am)
Hi Stephen…thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, this last release went directly to Amazon for purchase. I can only assume there will be more available eventually via their web site at GuitarsGarden. Thanks so much for stopping into the channel! 🎸👍
So just my luck 😢, I looked at Amazon here in Mexico, and I can't get any Firefly guitars ... I guess I'm going to have to head to the States just to order some guitars! Sounds and looks wonderful 👍🏼👏🏼😊.
Hi Mike…thanks so much for watching and commenting. A lot of guitar manufacturers are building guitars in China. Many share manufacturing plants, so it’s not unusual to find them doing guitars for many different brands. It’s certainly possible…truly appreciate your stopping into the channel! 🎸👍
Hi Mike! Nice!! I think they are some of the best “value” all valve amps out there right now. My 15W has been going strong (with nearly daily studio use) for the past 4 plus years, and I also have the baby brother 5W. Currently don’t have a real use for the 50W, but have heard good things on it as well! Thanks so much for stopping in and sharing! 🎸👍
@@JimmyStewart1 "Valve"? Since when are you from the UK? I'm reporting this to my local veterans affairs office. Tubes man, we call them tubes Chief....Oh, and in response to your statement that you earned that retirement money, I completely agree, you did in fact earn it. All I'm saying is that if I had your money, I'd throw mine away... Those sh*t birds at Amazon! I ordered the Blueberry Burst LX because it would arrive today with my free delivery from Prime. I've been sitting around all day like a Master Chief with a cup of coffee resting on my belly, and my pick in my hands....I said "PICK" Chief, get your mind out of the gutter... Your Friend as always, QM3 Snark
First off, my girlfriend Janie wanted me to thank you for the Blazing Saddles reference on your last video. Now that that is out of the way, how dare you! I just bought a honey burst explorer, and yes it is quite special. Do you think I'm made of money? I don't have that retired Senior/Master Chief money coming in every month as part of my income! I had seen that Amazon had these before the show, but had stayed away as I had just bought the honey burst. You come bebopping in without a care in the world showing off the blueberry burst that I had shown Janie. So now I'm 'stuck' with 2 Explorers! Just ordered that blueberry one because every fool knows that blue guitars have the best tone on the planet. Oh, and my back hurts from playing my PRS SE McCarty 594 last night. What fun! Jane in her eternal wisom told me to probably get a V, and I'm like man, I never liked flying V's. Just not my bag. Much like yourself I found myself in for a treat when I played my FFLX as it wasn't this unwieldly beast I thought it would be. Nice, light, and sits in the lap nicely. I think we are ready to start out Skynyrd tribute band, Steve Gaines played an Explorer from that group. Could you do me a favor, and do a review of the FFSG style? I just returned an Epi SG Muse because of the terrible neck dive. The S.O.B. went down to the floor as if to tie my shoes the minute I put a strap to it. Thing went down so fast I thought as I was a port o call.... Putting the button right in line with the back of the neck is dumbest idea to ever come out of Gibson/Epi except for maybe robo tuners. Anyway, we went with the blueberry burst because that arrives tomorrow, and the purple one would have taken 2 whole days. Being the worlds oldest child, I wasn't willing to wait that long, plus when I looked earlier, the blueberry burst went into a nice purple on the back, while the purple burst looked like just black.
Snarky….some of the funniest stuff I have read in awhile….🤣🤣. BZ!! First…tell Janie I said “thanks” and glad she caught it….😉 Secondly, I earned every cent of that $29.99 monthly retirement income…I can certainly sympathize with you in being “stuck” with two Explorers…life can be cruel at times. I actually did a review on the SG (though it is the older version) from Firefly back when it was 1st released. Neck dive?? No such thing…did a video about that guitarist induced myth back a few years ago as well. You need to go though the entire catalog here on the channel and report back at zero dark thirty as to what you have learned. In the meantime, I will be in the mess playing spades…find me! P.S. Congrats on the blueberry….enjoy!! 🎸👍
@@JimmyStewart1 I like them, but man, I don't want to fight my guitar while I'm playing it either. I was ripping on the McCarty 594 last night though. I even did a passable Freebird!
@@JimmyStewart1 Hmmm, no neck dive huh? You realize of course that if 3 guitars show up on the same day or within 24 hrs of each other you'll never find my body...
They have had different neck profiles on their different models for sure. Some of the LP’s had a 50’s style neck, others have had a more 60’s slim profile. I prefer a bit more “beef” in the neck, but this feels quite good actually and is quite comfortable to play! Appreciate your stopping into the channel…much thanks! 🎸👍
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Though they do look similar, I believe they are totally separate builds. I don’t have a WestCreek to compare to, but think this is the case. Different manufacturers give different build specs to the factories to build, so obviously it could be close. Truly appreciate your stopping the channel! 🎸👍
Hi Donavon…thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yes…most guitar guys are certainly addicted to gear. I can think of worse things…😎 Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel!! 🎸👍
do you find yourself picking styrofoam nuggets off the pool table felt for days after an unboxing? on the Explorer players, did you mean Allen Collins of Lynyrd Skynyrd? (not the Allman Brothers. 😀 ) another player that jumps to mind is the little known guitarist Eddie VanHalen who played most of the tracks on the band's debut album on one.
Hi ekw555…Yes, totally meant Allen from Skynyrd…it was early in the morning (for me) and brain was still fuzzy…😎 No styrofoam on my felt…that’s why I use a cover… I knew about Eddie’s early use as well…again brain fog is a real thing especially when I never use a script…🤣 Appreciate your stopping in…much thanks! 🎸👍
Amazon? It's obvious that they are now trying to take on Westcreek Guitars. Firefly has put up almost every matching model that Westcreek has had in their inventory.
Well, seeing they started initially on Amazon, it’s really not that big of a stretch. However, ignoring the heavy competition out there would also be foolish for Firefly so probably a smart move. Thanks so much for stopping into the channel. Much thanks…🎸👍
man thats a sweet one! didnt johnny winter and eddie van halen also rock the "explorer" for a bit? i heard about how eddie cut a chunk out resembling a "sharks mouth" but regretted it fearing he messed up the tone from what ive heard...

Funny, I had this same thought too, between this one and some of the other “edgy” models he’s gotten lately, like the John 5 Ghost, or that white Kramer Baretta-style clone!
Hi Jimmy. I just saw your biography for the first time. Great!! 👍 👍 👍 Here is something I thought of. ====> People will believe almost anything. Today, a great guitarist is someone who can play 100 random notes per second! 😂 Dan.
I disagree. A great guitarist is one that knows the value of the silence between notes. Sure fast is cool to some ears, but it's the space between notes that separate the truly greats from the good shredders.
@@Snarkyone1965 That is what I meant. I said "random". It is just noise assault, like a deafening motorcycle. Many people today are so dumb, that they like it. And playing fast for its own sake, is moronic. I think soon there will be machines which can play so fast that the sound will be a continuous drone. It will be spectacle, not music. In that case, why not just blast the sound of a car crash video game at 120 decibels? I think the following is always true - stupid people like stupid "music".
Not interested in this particular guitar, I'm just here to comment. I just bought the IYV IP-350 and was watching your review for the umpteenth time in anticipation of my guitar arriving May 15th. I bought it at the obscene price of $137 on Amazon. Back to why I'm here. In the video you mentioned ppl being on the fence about subscribing....wtf? Are you kidding. 5 mos later they're giving us a curved tuning rack, I'm not liking that, but will probably buy one anyway. I don't like the way it looks and it looks to be crowding the tuning pegs.

I am sure they are keeping their eye on all the competition…

What time are you open to?? I may want to stop by and borrow a couple guitars…😎

I've been wondering if the West Creek brand guitars come out of the same factory as the fireflies
Hi Mike…thanks so much for watching and commenting. A lot of guitar manufacturers are building guitars in China. Many share manufacturing plants, so it’s not unusual to find them doing guitars for many different brands. It’s certainly possible…truly appreciate your stopping into the channel! 🎸👍
Mono price amps sound good. I have 5 watt combo and 50 watt head.
Hi Mike! Nice!! I think they are some of the best “value” all valve amps out there right now. Currently don’t have a real use for the 50W, but have heard good things on it as well! Thanks so much for stopping in and sharing! 🎸👍

BZ!! First…tell Janie I said “thanks” and glad she caught it….😉
Secondly, I earned every cent of that $29.99 monthly retirement income…I can certainly sympathize with you in being “stuck” with two Explorers…life can be cruel at times.

Seems like Fireflys used to have chunky necks, maybe on their LP's. That's good news. I mean, it should shred...
I'm assuming these are the same as the WestCreek Revenge?
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Though they do look similar, I believe they are totally separate builds. I don’t have a WestCreek to compare to, but think this is the case. Different manufacturers give different build specs to the factories to build, so obviously it could be close. Truly appreciate your stopping the channel! 🎸👍

do you find yourself picking styrofoam nuggets off the pool table felt for days after an unboxing?
on the Explorer players, did you mean Allen Collins of Lynyrd Skynyrd? (not the Allman Brothers. 😀 )
another player that jumps to mind is the little known guitarist Eddie VanHalen who played most of the tracks on the band's debut album on one.
Hi ekw555…Yes, totally meant Allen from Skynyrd…it was early in the morning (for me) and brain was still fuzzy…😎
No styrofoam on my felt…that’s why I use a cover…
I knew about Eddie’s early use as well…again brain fog is a real thing especially when I never use a script…🤣

I believe Steve Gaines rocked one as well.
Amazon? It's obvious that they are now trying to take on Westcreek Guitars. Firefly has put up almost every matching model that Westcreek has had in their inventory.
Funny, I had this exact same thought!
Well, seeing they started initially on Amazon, it’s really not that big of a stretch. However, ignoring the heavy competition out there would also be foolish for Firefly so probably a smart move. Thanks so much for stopping into the channel. Much thanks…🎸👍

Hi Jimmy. I just saw your biography for the first time. Great!! 👍 👍 👍 Here is something I thought of. ====> People will believe almost anything. Today, a great guitarist is someone who can play 100 random notes per second! 😂 Dan.
Hi Dan. Sorry to disappoint you…can’t play 100 random notes per second. ☹️
I disagree. A great guitarist is one that knows the value of the silence between notes. Sure fast is cool to some ears, but it's the space between notes that separate the truly greats from the good shredders.
@@Snarkyone1965
That is what I meant.
