Assalammualaikum hi, I'm currently doing my degree in Islamic banking and finance. Can I get some advice on that, like how are the career opportunities and what skills or knowledge that I should master?
Hey, I would encourage you to put 30 minute 'catch-ups' into peoples calendar i.e. 30 minute slots where you grab a coffee/tea/drink away from the desk and just get to know the person. Be sure to have well prepared questions though! Also, these catch-ups sound 'weird' to many students, however, employees expect you to request catch-ups with them! Hope that helps :)
What about internships for Research Scholars? Even they need skills not only graduates or post graduates..!!! Looking forward to it.. if thats possible.
Hi Afzal, thanks for the great content I just wanted to ask a few questions. I have just completed my first year at Leeds uni doing economics and Finance. I wasn’t able to secure a summer internship or insight week this year but I am planning to next year. Over this summer I still wanted to progress so I’m looking to do as many online courses that are accredited to enhance my CV. Do you have any advice on which courses I should complete over the summer? I am free until September. Appreciate you taking the time to read this, many thanks.
In terms of the knowledge that they expect you to remember from the classroom, how much will that have to be relied upon? Will the tasks and skills needed to perform the required tasks be taught on the job?
My advisors messed up on my course planning and overloaded most of my upper division Finance courses until my senior year. I have completed nearly all of my accounting courses though. I am a Junior.
Ideally you'd want something on your CV to show that you didn't let the summer pass by whilst other students were interning somewhere. Therefore, it's best to try and get any sort of work experience, relevant to finance or not. Any experience is better than no experience especially when it comes to selling yourself on your CV. Hope that helps! :)

Random question do they check up on CVs or not?
If you receive a full-time offer they'll hire a company to do background checks on all the information that you provided beforehand.
Is financial edge training relevant to only the UK or most countries?
They're global and host training all over the world.

Can you make a sample video of the online application? Sometimes the format gets confusing or is it irrelevant.
What do you think about getting an internship in your final year of uni?
Na bro some spring weeks are paid
gs pay and they provide accommodation
That's interesting!

what kind of graduate are they looking for? like accounting or management graduate. Or it is a necessity to be a finance graduate.

If we dont get a summer internship, what can we do to leverage ourselves to get a grad scheme?
